By the time a young mind has developed sufficiently to exercise critical thinking it will have been filled with dogma and doctrines which will sufficiently confuse and misdirect this skill down multiple blind alleys and dead ends. Before they break their teen-years children will have surrendered this crucial faculty and accept the world as it is presented.
I include Occam's Razor for those unfamiliar with the principle and how it applies to the process of critical thinking and assisting the arrival at considered, critical judgements.
Occam’s Razor – The principle can be interpreted as stating among competing hypotheses, the one with the fewest assumptions should be selected.
