My Experience: Racism, Lying & Censorship Entrenched In Genocide-complicit & Zionist-perverted Australia, US, UK & West

The core ethos of decent Humanity is Kindness and Truth but this is grossly violated by the genocidal racism, egregious lying and resolute censorship that is entrenched in genocide-complicit and Zionist-perverted Australia, US, UK and the West. It is hopefully instructive to record my personal experience of racism, lying and censorship variously as a scientist, academic, activist, and humanitarian writer and over 63 years as an adult in peaceful and democratic but seriously flawed Australia.
Indeed to jump to Australia in my 82nd year, Australia is Zionist-perverted, a craven lackey of fervently Zionist America, and is second only to the US as a fervent supporter of Apartheid Israel, noting that those supporting Apartheid Israel and hence the vile crime of Apartheid are unfit for decent company, public life and public office.
Australia is politically dominated by the mendacious, far-right and “king-making” Murdoch media empire, the Zionist- and US-beholden Centre-Right Australian Labor Party or ALP (presently in Government), and the Zionist- and US-beholden Right-Far Right and Trumpist Liberal Party-National Party (L-NP) Coalition (presently in Opposition). The political spectrum ranges from the decent and humane Greens to the racist, Islamophobic and Far Right One Nation.
Australia has an excellent compulsory and preferential voting system (if a candidate for the House of Representatives fails to get a 50% plus majority of primary votes, second preferences are taken into account). In the May 2022 Federal elections Labor (35% of the primary vote) was elected to Government with the second preferences of the progressive and humane Greens (13%) and of a few like-minded Independents (2%) .
Of the presently ongoing armed atrocities in Myanmar, Ukraine, the Congo, Sudan and Palestine, the 2 most deadly are in Sudan and Gaza. The Palestinian BDS National Committee: “The Palestinian BDS National Committee, the largest coalition of Palestinian civil society, expresses its deepest solidarity with our kindred people of Sudan, who are facing mass atrocities, and what may amount to genocide, forced displacement and ethnic cleansing, especially in the city of El Fasher, the capital of North Darfur… It is no coincidence that the same brutal tactics used in the US-Israeli genocide in Gaza, claiming tens of thousands of Palestinian lives, are being repeated in Sudan. In Sudan, the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) – an ally of the Israeli and Emirati regimes – as well as, to a lesser extent, forces linked to the authoritarian Sudanese regime, have killed tens of thousands of Sudanese and displaced millions. These crimes include the 18-month-long siege of cities like El Fasher, deliberate attacks on hospitals and healthcare workers, the use of starvation and famine as a weapon of war, summary executions, and the systematic targeting of civilians” [2].
As determined from data published by expert epidemiologists in the leading medical journal, The Lancet, the ongoing and war criminal US- and Apartheid Israel-imposed Gaza Genocide in gross violation of International Law was associated after 2 years with 875,000 Gaza “deaths from violence and imposed deprivation” (Google this phrase), with this “conservatively” estimated to include 175,000 violent deaths, 700,000 deaths from imposed deprivation, and estimated deaths of 325,000 children, 207,000 women and 342,000 men. However these estimates are conservative because they do not consider the extreme vulnerability to deprivation of under-5 year old infants (in impoverished countries 70% of avoidable deaths from deprivation are under-5 year old infants) [3-14].
As revealed in the May 2022 Australian Federal elections, only 15% of voters voted for the Australian Greens and some other decent and like-minded candidates supporting strong action for “all human rights for all” Palestinians. 85% of Australian voters voted for the continuing obscene and racist status quo.
Briefly outlined below is how Australia got to this morally degenerate position as reflected in my 81 years exposure to racism, lying and censorship in racist White Australia .
(A). Childhood intimations of Australian racism, lying and censorship.
Brought up in peaceful, prosperous, democratic and 95% White Australia and an avid reader of the local newspaper (The Mercury of Hobart, the capital of the island state of Tasmania) I had few intimations of the underlying racism, lying and censorship in White Australian society. My mother was White Australian and my father was a Jewish refugee from Nazi Hungary and I presumed that was why my White Australian relatives in outback New South Wales and Queensland had nothing to do with us (I only met my White Australian grandmother once). The first song I learned at primary school was ”God save the King”(from the teachers) and the second was an anti-Jewish anti-Semitic song “Balls to Mr Finklestein, dirty old man” (from the children).
There were 2 dark-skinned children in my class, one a pretty girl and her brother who showed us how to “tickle” fish in the Lenah Valley Creek. On one occasion an evidently perceptive young male teacher got the boy to take us “up the bush” in the foothills of Mount Wellington where he showed us native orchids. However we were taught that the Indigenous Tasmanians (Aborigines) had “died out” and only as an adult living on the Mainland did I realize that they were surviving Indigenous Tasmanians. The last “full-blood” Tasmanian was supposedly Truganini who died in 1876. I used to play in the ruins of the Women’s Prison (opposite our house in Cascades, South Hobart) ) where she was incarcerated at one time. Her skeleton was put on display in the Hobart Museum. Today there are over 30,000 Indigenous Tasmanians, descendants of the Tasmanian First Nations Peoples (called Palawa). The only racism I recall was directed at children speaking good English. My mother, from a prosperous background and educated at top private schools in Melbourne, taught us to speak “good English”, but when I attended Primary School I quickly learned to speak Tasmanian-style English , a slower and somewhat lugubrious version of Australian English.
I attended Hobart High School, an excellent secular, co-educational and selective entry school that deservedly called itself “the best school of all”. There was no corporal punishment at home but on one occasions my father was enraged when I came home late after playing with a Hungarian child (his assumption in the absence of other evidence was that Hungarians in post-war Australia were either Nazis/fascists or their Jewish victims). At school we were taught that the Indigenous Tasmanians were “primitive” and “Stone Age” and on that account had simply died out, the view repeatedly put by the otherwise “progressive” H.G. Wells in his “Outline of History”. The violence of the 19th century “Black Wars” was barely intimated. Only 3 decades later when I researched the genocide of First Nations People did I become aware of the horrific nature of the Tasmanian Aboriginal Genocide [21]. An elderly lady up the road, Mrs Walker, had a big library and lent me British Empire books such as Chums Own Annual and “Sanders of the River” in which the White heroes, their Indigenous helpers and machine guns would slaughter “natives” for the glory of the Empire on which the Sun never set.
When I was about 12 I was sent to a Christian Brothers Catholic boys High School, St Virgil’s, for what I have always assumed to be complex religious and political reasons (my father was a friend of the Catholic Archbishop Guilford Young). My elder sister was made of sterner stuff and refused to leave Hobart High School. I had no religion with the consequence that for 5 years and half a dozen times every school day I would remain standing (out of respect for their Catholic religion) while the rest the class would genuflect before the statue of the Virgin Mary. At Mass for the school one day Archbishop Guilford Young made a fiery speech, declaiming “But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea” (Matthew 18:6) and slamming his hat onto the pulpit. I told my parents, copying the Archbishop’s notable manner of speaking, but they coyly offered no explanation for his fury. 40 years later 2 “old boys” independently told me that child sexual abuse was common knowledge there but fortunately I was never exposed to it and didn’t know such things happened. An Australian “Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse” (2013-2017) revealed numerous shocking Catholic and Protestant institutional abuses of this kind but ignored huge non-institutional abuse and the shocking reality that 25% of Australians have suffered child sexual abuse [22].
5 years as a non-believer in a Catholic School had some benefits: (1) I was exposed to Catholicism, a major Western cultural influence, (2) I was told some Catholic insider stories from Labor politics e.g. “They want to get rid of your father”, “A very senior policeman X transferred to the bush after raiding a politicians and prostitutes party involving robes of office”, (3) it is OK and indeed useful to differ from the majority, and (4) exposure to Catholic ideas of social justice from the Irish origin Christian Brothers (half a century later I attended a huge Catholic wedding involving a Labor MP and told the bride, bridegroom, and mother-in-law that the social teachings of the Catholic Church are well to the left of the Labor Party). Importantly I knew of the mid-19th century Irish Famine (An Gorta Mór, The Great Hunger, 1 million killed, and 2 million emigrant refugees) but the final year prescribed history text (G.M. Trevelyan’s “History of England” ) was lying when in a footnote it merely referred to famine being avoided in Ireland through English decency! When I was a teenager a very smart Jewish Hungarian uncle who had survived as a teenager in the Buchenwald concentration camp gave me a book on Hittite archaeology (C.W. Ceram, “Narrow Pass, Black Mountain. The Discovery of the Hittite Empire”) that revealed the first major recorded political lie: Ramses II falsely claiming Egyptian victory over the Hittites at the Battle of Kadesh.
I was aware from the age of about 6 of the WW2 Jewish Holocaust that wiped our Jewish Hungarian family from the face of Europe through killing and exile. I remember asking my parents about the 4-digit tattoo on the arm of a family friend. As a patriotic young Australian I was indignant when my father said that it could happen in Australia. It has – the Labor Government and the Coalition Opposition are complicit in the Gaza Genocide in 20 ways [15] and lie for Apartheid Israel in 35 ways [16, 17]. The war criminal US- and Apartheid Israel-imposed Gaza Genocide in gross violation of International Law was associated after 2 years with 875,000 Gaza “deaths from violence and imposed deprivation” (Google this phrase), with this “conservatively” estimated to include 175,000 violent deaths, 700,000 deaths from imposed deprivation and estimated deaths of 325,000 children, 207,000 women and 342,000 men [3-11].
(B). Adulthood, university and immediate recognition of Asia, apartheid, Australian involvement in nuclear terrorism, environmental destruction, human rights abuse of Indigenous people, and complicity in genocidal wars.
I turned 18 in my first year at university (1962) and my eyes were quickly opened to the horrible realities facing the world. The launching of the Russian Sputniks (1957 onwards) and Yuri Gagarin’s flight as the first man in space (1961) had persuaded me that studying Science was important. The Cuban Missile Crisis (October 1962) made clear the existential threat to Humanity from nuclear weapons. Studying Zoology and Chemistry I recognized the acute threat to the environment of beautiful Tasmania from remorseless greed. The very likely extinction of the dog-like marsupial Tasmanian Tiger, the deforestation and flooding of large parts of island Tasmania, and Rachel Carson’s “Silent Spring” persuaded me that the loss of any species is an irreversible crime. The assassination of JFK on 22 November 1963 reinforced idealism, duty, non-violence and the preciousness of democracy.
The struggle of Indigenous Australians for civil rights came to Australian universities in the early 1960s. A fundamental change was recognition by White Australians of the humanity of non-Europeans that was fast-tracked by the Colombo Plan and thousands of Asian students coming to study at Australian universities. Elected to the Students Representative Council (SRC) I successfully wrote to the various Asian embassies for information for the students’ reading room. The transition for me was immediate due to my friendship with Zareena Lateef , a Bengali- and Bihari-origin Indian student from the British colony of Fiji, and later my wife for 52 years. All of her grandparents were Indian indentured labourers (“5 year slaves”) brought to Fiji to slave under the whip on British and Australian sugar cane plantations.
Zareena and I didn’t need to discuss politics - economic justice, social justice, environment protection, “all human rights to all” , Indigenous civil rights, one-person-one -vote democracy, and opposition to racism, colonialism, apartheid, genocide and war were simply obvious to both of us. Over the years we attended rallies and protests for these positions, both in Australia and when we worked in the US. Zareena was dark brown and suspected from Main Street pedestrian whispers that she was anomalous from high school onwards in Tasmania because at school Tasmanians were taught that there were no Black Indigenous people left. Once, dressed up to go out in Hobart, we were refused entry to a trolley bus - we stood silently but the other passengers angrily and successfully demanded that we be allowed to board, a remarkable testament to fundamental human decency. However in America we knew that we would be jailed if we ventured into the Southern states. We were married in 1966, a year before the 1967 Referendum that recognized Indigenous Australians as citizens in their own country, and 7 years before the abolition of the notorious White Australia Policy in 1973 by the reformist Whitlam Labor Government. We campaigned and door-knocked for Labor after the Whitlam Labor Government was removed in a US- and UK-backed coup on 11 November 1975. As a Black-White couple for 55 years we were a silent public rejection of racism.
In 1964 the racist, pro-apartheid and pro-war conservative Menzies Government introduced compulsory, lottery-based conscription of 20 year old males. The first call up was in 1965 and I escaped by a few months. In 1965 it joined the US in the Vietnam War. During my PhD studies at Flinders University of South Australia I drove around with a big, black sign on my cream VW saying “NAZIS KILLED JEWS WE KILL ASIANS”. In 1970 we were working at Cornell University and joined half a million decent Americans demonstrating in Washington against the American bombing of Cambodia. In the Hollywood movie “Forest Gump”, during that demonstration Sally and Forest Gump re-unite in an otherwise empty Memorial Pool , but we were there and it being a very hot day the pool was packed with thousands of naked or near-naked demonstrators. Famed American writer Gore Vidal: “Unlike most Americans who lie all the time, I hate lying. And here I am surrounded with these hills [in Hollywood] full of liars — some very talented” [23].
(C). My experience of 3 decades of lying and censorship by Western and Mainstream Australian media and politician presstitutes.
Sketched below is an outline of my experience of egregious lying and censorship by racist and look-the-other-way Mainstream Australia and by the Anglosphere and West in general.
(1). The forgotten WW2 Bengali Holocaust.
In 1995 I was made aware of the “forgotten” WW2 Bengal Famine by Satyajit Ray’s movie “Distant Thunder” that concluded by stating that 5 million had died. It is now estimated that 6-7 million Indians were deliberately starved to death for strategic reasons by the British with food-denying Australian complicity in the WW2 Bengali Holocaust (WW2 Indian Holocaust, WW2 Bengal Famine) in Bengal, Bihar, Assam and Odisha. The WW2 Bengali Genocide was the first WW2 atrocity to have been described as a holocaust. The de facto British strategy involved ensuring that a Japanese invasion of North East India would encounter a famine-wracked and food-free zone and thus be defeated. WW2 hero Winston Churchill knew his history and in particular the British defeat of the French in Spain during the Napoleonic War. The British withdrew across Spain to British Navy-suppled Lisbon burning crops as they went, with the invading French defeated by encountering a food-free zone. Calcutta was a major industrial city of the British Empire in WW2 and sucked food from a starving, food-producing countryside. The price of the staple rice rose 4-fold for a variety of reasons and those who could not pay (notably landless labourers and boat-denied fishermen) simply starved [3, 20, 21, 24-48].
7 years before the Bengal Famine Winston Churchill told the House of Commons re Indians (1935): “In the standard of life they have nothing to spare. The slightest fall from the present standard of life in India means slow starvation, and the actual squeezing out of life, not only of millions but of scores of millions of people, who have come into the world at your invitation and under the shield and protection of British power”. Winston Churchill (1942): “I hate Indians. They are a beastly people with a beastly religion”. Winston Churchill in a secret letter to President Roosevelt (and the only reference by him I have found to the Bengal Famine he supervised) (1944): “I am seriously concerned about the food situation in India and its possible reactions on our joint operations. Last year we had a grievous famine in Bengal through which at least 700,000 people died… I am no longer justified in not asking for your help”. Winston Churchill’s cover-up in his 6 volume “The Second World War” that won him the Nobel Prize for Literature but made no mention of the Bengal Famine that he had deliberately and knowingly caused (1955): “No great portion of the world population was so effectively protected from the horrors and perils of the World War as were the peoples of Hindustan. They were carried through the struggle on the shoulders of our small Island” (vol. 4, p181 in Winston Churchill, “The Second World War. Volumes I-VI (Cassell, London, 1954) [24]. For some years I was an invited member of the exclusive “20 Club” composed of senior academics from various Melbourne universities who would meet monthly and have an expensive meal at Melbourne University’s University House, followed by discussion of a philosophic presentation. However when this published Churchill denial was strongly denied as was “lying by commission and omission” I went home and promptly resigned.
My late Indo-Fijian wife of 52 years, Zareena Lateef, was of Bengali and Bihari origin but her British colonial and Australian schooling and Australian university education meant that she was unaware (as were her numerous relatives) of this huge atrocity inflicted on her people. Successive generations of mendacious British historiographers ignored or minimized the Awful Truth. Professors Martin Gilbert (UK) and Geoffrey Blainey (Australia) deserve credit for being exceptions in reporting the Bengal Famine in several books (albeit briefly) but they failed to mention it in other pertinent books. More recently Simon Schama’s “A History of Britain” (2000) and Michael Wood’s “The Story of India” (2007) (both published by the BBC) failed to report this WW2 Indian Holocaust (for a detailed analysis see [21]).
(2). All education should be free, Accredited Remote Learning, and censorship versus freedom of speech in Australian universities.
All education from vital pre-school education to life-long learning should be free. In Australia the progressive Whitlam Labor Government (1972-1975) made university education free before it was removed in a UK- and US-backed coup. A subsequent Labor Government headed by “US asset” and neoliberal Bob Hawke restored huge university fees via a student loan and debt scheme (HECS) that presently leaves millions of Australians with scores of thousands of dollars in life-time debt [49]. This is a fraudulent travesty from my expert perspective as a scientist and scholar associated with universities for 60 years as a student, researcher and teacher. Indeed several dozen countries have free university education. The false arguments of the thieving fraudsters are (a) that university graduates earn more than non-graduates (denied by the excellent remuneration of plumbers, electricians and other tradespeople) and (b) students should massively contribute to the cost of running universities. However while every country needs a complement of scholarly and scientific experts for various economic, health and prestige reasons, why should impoverished teenagers have to pay for it? [50-62].
Further, high quality accredited university education can actually be provided cost-free via Accredited Remote Learning (ARL) or Reading Only Tertiary Education (ROTE) – students study detailed syllabus material off-campus and their learning is assessed by accrediting examination (AI-assisted for accuracy). Actually this is what most students of expensive on-campus education have been doing off-campus for decades because they typically have to work unless their parents are rich. 20 years ago students would typically turn up for lectures in the first week to get lecture notes and details of other arrangements (notably tutorial and practical class arrangements) and then study off-campus while working part-time. Thinking the best of them, the million-dollar-per year university managers (“refugees from scholarship” according to my academic father John Polya) are evidently unaware of these shop-floor realities. It gets worse. Thus nursing and some other students need to work full-time for free as part of the practise-based requirement of their program (slave labour), this preventing them from working for survival [51-62]. A reductio ad absurdum [51-62]: Top US universities like Harvard have been putting top course material on the web as Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) for free access - free, top quality and accredited remote learning could be obtained through MOOCs and free, AI-based accrediting assessment [62]. Free university and Technical And Further Education (TAFE) is the policy of the decent and progressive Australian Greens [63].
In addition to my long-held concerns about free tertiary education, I have always been committed to freedom of speech as a key ethos of scientists, scholars and universities. However the corporatizing of Australian universities has been associated with Codes of Conduct that constrain academic free speech by restricting public comment by academics to the strict confines of their academic discipline. Indeed in an incisive analysis of “Current academic censorship and self-censorship in Australian universities”, I concluded: “Finally, we should publicly insist that universities that constrain free speech are not fit for our children” [64]. In the public interest I have further commented on the parlous state of Australian universities over the years (e.g. see [50, 58, 65-75]).
By 2012 decent people were objecting to military research links between serial war criminal and grossly human rights-violating Apartheid Israel and Australia universities [71]. However the continuing over-2 year Gaza Genocide (875,000 Gazans killed by violence and deprivation by 7 October 2025 [7, 8]) has now severely impacted Australian universities, some of which are involved in collaboration with the US-backed Apartheid Israeli war machine. Students and academics protesting complicity in the Gaza Genocide have been threatened by Zionists and pro-Zionist university managers [71-80]. The fervently pro-Apartheid Israel and hence despicably pro-Apartheid Labor Government and Coalition Opposition have made Australia complicit in the Gaza Genocide in 20 ways [15], lie for Apartheid in 35 ways [16, 17], and have made asserted “antisemitism” the big issue in Australia to the exclusion of the Zionazi Israeli mass murder of 875,000 Gazans in 2 years, mostly women and children. Led by the University of Melbourne, many universities adopted a version of the antisemitism definition of the antisemitic and holocaust-denying International Holocaust-Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) [76-80]. Backed by Labor and the Coalition, Zionists have delivered to government a McCarthyist Zionist Antisemitism Plan that threatens Australian free speech, media, universities, and anti-racist Jews, non-Jews, Palestinians, Arabs and Muslims [74, 75].
In the public interest I have made detailed, documented and damning submissions about Australian universities to the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) (re huge and fraudulent university fees [58]) and to a recent Federal Government Inquiry ( re free language attainment accreditation [50]) but I’m not holding my breath.
(3). Australian complicity in all 1950 onwards US Asian Wars.
Variously as UK or US lackeys Australians have invaded about 85 countries with 30 of these violations being genocidal [81-84]. From WW2 onwards Australia has violated all 80 Indo-Pacific countries either militarily or as one of the world’s worst climate criminal countries [85, 86]. Australia was involved in all 1950 onwards US Asian Wars, with these atrocities associated with 40 million Asian deaths from violence and war-imposed deprivation [3], the Coalition supporting all these wars and Labor involved in all these wars except for the Vietnam War and the Iraq War. The pro-Apartheid Labor Government and Coalition Opposition have made Australia complicit in the Gaza Genocide in 20 ways [15] and lie for Apartheid in 35 ways [16, 17], Through the joint US-Australian electronic spying base at Pine Gap (Central Australia) Australia supplies target coordinates for US bombing of countries from the Middle East to South Asia and South East Asia [87] (this alone making Australia complicit in the Gaza Genocide). It gets even worse. The former Gillard Labor Government invited thousands of US soldiers to rotate through a base in the Northern Territory. The present Labor Government is allowing nuclear-armed US submarines and nuclear-armed US B-52 bombers to be based in Australia, despite Labor Party Policy being to ratify the TPNW (Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons) that prohibits assisting nuclear weapons manufacture, deployment or use “in any way” [88, 89].
(4). The Global Avoidable Mortality Holocaust. kills 7.4 million people each year, mostly under-5 year old infants.
Each year 7.4 million people die avoidably from deprivation, about 70% being under-5 year old infants in impoverished non-European countries. From 1950 onwards about 1,500 million people have died thus on Spaceship Earth with the prosperous European world in charge of the flight deck [3]. Google the phrase “avoidable deaths from deprivation” and be shocked by the result – the world resolutely ignores the Global Avoidable Mortality Holocaust that kills 7.4 million people each year, mostly under-5 year old infants. By way of comparison, consider (deaths from violence and deprivation in brackets) the WW2 Jewish Holocaust (5-6 million), the WW2 Bengali Holocaust (WW2 Indian Holocaust, WW2 Bengal Famine; 6-7 `million), the century-long Palestinian Holocaust (3.1 million), and the ongoing Gaza Holocaust (875,000 by 7 October 2025) [13].
(5). Ignored Submissions to the Federal Australian National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC).
My 5 Submissions are summarized briefly as follows (the 2 Submissions explicitly rejected by the NACC to date are asterisked):

*(ii). “Huge But Ignored Australian War Crimes” (2 August 2023) [92]: Successive Australian Governments and their public servants have grossly violated Articles 55 and 56 of the Fourth Geneva Convention by criminally rejecting their unequivocal demand for Occupier provision to the Conquered Afghan Subjects of life-sustaining food and medical services “to the fullest extent of the means available to it” [3]. In horrible reality 6,000,000 Afghans died avoidably from deprivation under US Alliance rule (passively murdered by US Alliance including Australian politicians) versus 39 (Afghans allegedly unlawfully killed by Australian soldiers). Of course all war crimes should be thoroughly investigated and the perpetrators tried and punished, but in my opinion no Australian soldier should be tried for any of these 39 alleged unlawful killings of Afghans before the politicians complicit in the 6,000,000/39 = 154,000 times greater war crime (the passive mass murder of 6,000,000 Afghans) are exposed and tried (several veterans have privately strongly agreed with me).
*(iii). “Corporations & Governments Ignore Huge Carbon Debt” (19 August 2023) [93]: Australia is among world-leading climate criminal countries in 16 areas. Corporations, governments and Mainstream media conspire to fraudulently and corruptly ignore Australia’s huge and inescapable Carbon Debt that totals (USD) about $5 trillion, is increasing at up to about $0.6 trillion each year, and at $69,000 per head per year for under-30 year old Australians. The Carbon Debt of the World is $250 trillion and increasing at $13 trillion each year. This is appalling intergenerational injustice because this ever-increasing and inescapable Carbon Debt will have to be paid by our children, grandchildren and future generations. The damage-related Carbon Price is about $200 per tonne CO2-equivalent but the global applied average is merely $2 per tonne CO2-equivalent. A general principle of national law and the Natural Law is that people are recompensed in full for damage done to them by others but this is rejected in relation to deadly Carbon Pollution by a greedy, fraudulent, corrupt, and traitorous Australian Mainstream (except notably for the sensible, science-informed and humane Australian Greens).
(iv). “Huge & Fraudulent University Fees Exposed” (2 September 2023) [94]: Education is a basic human right and all education should be free for all. However the commodification and corporatizing of higher education has meant that free university education presently only obtains in about 25 countries. Australian universities charge impoverished local and overseas students hugely excessive tuition fees whereas Accredited Remote Learning (ARL) can deliver top quality, reading-based courses and accrediting examinations essentially for free. All societies and nations need to have a large complement of expert scholars and scientists for a variety of economic, health, national security and national prestige reasons. However, one must ask why impoverished, circa 20 year old undergraduate students barely out of childhood should have to pay for this complement of experts that disproportionately and immediately benefits the society-dominating, mature adult population and the richer and older citizens in particular.
(v). “Mainstream Media Lying” (21 September 2023) [95]: Australian Mainstream media (MSM) have an appalling and ongoing record of lying by omission and lying by commission. Lying by omission is far, far worse than repugnant lying by commission because the latter at least permits public refutation and public debate (subject, of course, to the will of MSM gate-keepers). Democracy ideally requires an informed electorate but driven by ever-increasing wealth inequity Western democracies (including Australia) have become kleptocracies, plutocracies, Murdochracies. lobbyocracies, corporatocracies, dollarocracies, mendaxocracies (based on lies) and kakistocracies (ruled by the least competent) in which Big Money corruptly purchases public perception of reality, votes, more political power and hence more private profit. MSM not only traitorously betray democracy but also variously egregiously steal from the taxpayer and consumer purchasers of their offerings.
(6). Ignored or otherwise censored Submissions to Australian Federal Government Inquiries.
I have made detailed Submissions to Federal Government Inquiries over the years but some of these have been rejected or otherwise blocked from public view. However, as summarized below, as a responsible citizen and in the public interest I have published these Submissions elsewhere so the public can be informed.
(i). Submission to Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) Inquiry on trade with Israel: I made a huge, detailed and exhaustively documented Submission to a Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) Inquiry on trade with Israel. However I complained in writing to the top DFAT Managers when my Submission did not appear in the List of Submissions, 2 of them (both Intelligence-connected) responded immediately, and after a fortnight my Submission was finally listed and accessible in full on clicking the link provided, albeit in an unusual way not applied to other Submissions. Nevertheless my Submission had great visibility and would often appear number 1 on page 1 of Results from Google Searches for matters relating to Apartheid Israel. However that was too good to last and presently my name, Dr Gideon Polya, is still listed on the List of Submissions but the link provided is dead – it no longer accesses my huge Submission. Of 28 Submissions listed with a clickable link by DFAT, ALL are readily accessed by clicking the link provided EXCEPT just ONE (1), that of Dr Gideon Polya. Fortunately I published my Submission on “Subversion of Australia [98]. To read my “disappeared” Submission simply Google “Zionist subversion and perversion of US lackey Australia”.
(ii). Submission to a Senate Inquiry into the COVID-19 Pandemic: Australia did vastly better than other rich European countries in the Covid-19 pandemic because (a) it is a large island that accordingly could readily minimize Covid-19 importation, and (b) while notoriously anti-science over climate change, Australia’s neoliberal government chose in this instance to listen to the health experts. However an Australian Senate Covid-19 Inquiry noted but declined to publish or accept as a Submission my detailed offering from a 5-decade career scientist. However I published my detailed but Senate Inquiry-rejected Submission under the title “Covid-19 Pandemic, Climate & Australia: Risky Ignoring Of Science-based Advice” [99].
(iii). Submission by Dr Gideon Polya to the Australian Federal House of Representatives “Inquiry into Building Asia Capability in Australia through the education system and beyond”: The Australian Federal Parliament House of Representatives Standing Committee on Education has set up an Inquiry concerned with how to increase Australia’s Asia capability (notably language skills) through the education system. I made a detailed Submission proposing that the multilingual skills of Australia’s circa 5 million Asian citizens should be very usefully formally credited for tertiary qualifications by free AI-informed Attainment Accreditation. The Committee Submissions website records 188 Submissions but my lengthy and well-referenced Submission was NOT among them [100, 101]. Fortunately I also published my Submission overseas [102].
(7). Australian membership of the antisemitic and holocaust-ignoring International Holocaust-Remembrance Alliance (IHRA).
Backed by both Labor and the Coalition, Australia belongs to the all-European, anti-Arab anti-Semitic, anti-Jewish anti-Semitic and holocaust-denying International Holocaust-Remembrance Alliance (IHRA). -European and with mostly US Alliance members, the egregiously racist and dishonest International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) is anti-Jewish anti-Semitic (by falsely defaming anti-racist Jews critical of Apartheid Israeli crimes as assertedly “anti-Semitic”), anti-Arab anti-Semitic (by falsely defaming anti-racist Palestinians, Arabs and Muslims critical of Apartheid Israeli crimes as assertedly “anti-Semitic”), and disgustingly holocaust-denying by ignoring all WW2 holocausts other than the WW2 Jewish Holocaust and ignoring some 70 genocide and holocaust atrocities. Over 40 anti-racist Jewish organizations have condemned the IHRA Definition of antisemitism [103-109]. The magnitudes of the major WW2 holocausts are summarized here (deaths from violence and imposed deprivation in brackets): WW2 Jewish Holocaust (5-6 million, WW2 Polish Holocaust (6 million), WW2 Soviet Holocaust (23 million), WW2 European Holocaust (30 million Slavs, Jews and Roma killed), WW2 Chinese Holocaust (35-40 million Chinese deaths under the Japanese, 1937-1945), and the WW2 Bengali Holocaust (WW2 Indian Holocaust, WW2 Bengal Famine; 6-7 million Indians deliberately starved to death in Bengal, Odisha, Bihar and Assam in 1942-1945 for strategic reasons by the British under Churchill with food-denying Australian complicity) [3, 21].
(8). Australian complicity in the ongoing Gaza Genocide and century-long Palestinian Holocaust.
Zionist-subverted, Zionist-perverted and craven lackey of Zionist America, Australia is second only to the US as a fervent supporter of genocidally racist Apartheid Israel. The Australian Labor Government and Coalition Opposition have made Australia complicit in the Zionist Israeli-imposed Gaza Genocide in 20 ways [15] and lie for Apartheid Israeli in 35 ways [16, 17]. The core ethos of decent Humanity is Kindness and Truth. Further, the key moral injunctions from the WW2 Jewish Holocaust and indeed from all genocides and holocausts are “zero tolerance for racism”, “zero tolerance for lying”, “bear witness” and “never again to anyone”. However Australia has violated these key injunctions for half a century by its fervent support for genocidally racist Apartheid Israel. Indeed racist Australian Labor Party figure Dr Herbert Vere Evatt played a key political role at the United Nations in the establishment of Apartheid Israel at the expense of the majority Indigenous Palestinian population. Australia has taken no concrete steps (e.g. boycotts and sanctions) to hold Zionazi Apartheid Israel responsible for its genocidal crimes: Occupied Palestinians have been excluded for 58 years from all the Human Rights set out in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights [98], the century-long Palestinian Holocaust has been associated with 3.1 million Palestinian deaths from violence (0.2 million) and deprivation (2.9 million), and the ongoing Gaza Genocide has been associated with 875,0000 Gaza deaths from violence and imposed deprivation in 2 years, the dead including 325,000 children, 207,000 women and 342,000 men [7].
(9). Avoidable “deaths from violence and deprivation”.
Whether a child dies avoidably from imposed deprivation or from bashing, bullets and bombs, the death is just as final and the perpetrator just as culpable. Avoidable deaths (excess deaths, avoidable mortality, excess mortality) for a country in a specific period is the difference between actual deaths and deaths expected for a peaceful, decently governed country with the same demographics (age distribution). Avoidable deaths have been estimated for all countries using UN demographic data available from 1950 onwards (see my book “Body Count. Global avoidable mortality since 1950” which also includes a brief mortality-related history of every country [3]). Thus global avoidable deaths from 1950 onwards total about 1,500 million with about 70% of the deaths being those of under-5 year old infants, and most avoidable deaths occurring in impoverished non-European countries [3].
People subject to war, occupation or foreign hegemony die from violence (Direct Deaths) or from deprivation (Indirect Deaths). In recent decades the ratio of Indirect Deaths to Direct Deaths in war ranges from about 2 (the US Alliance-imposed Iraqi Genocide) to 16 (the US-imposed Afghan Genocide ) [110-118]. Expert epidemiologists “conservatively” estimated an Indirect Deaths/Direct Deaths ratio of 4 in the Gaza Genocide [115, 116], this leading inexorably to an estimate of 875,000 Gaza “deaths from violence and deprivation” after 2 years of killing (active and passive mass murder) in the US-backed and Zionist Israeli-imposed Gaza Genocide [6-8, 13, 14]. There were 40 million Asian “deaths from violence and deprivation” in 1950s onwards US Asian wars [3]. There were 32 million Muslim “deaths from violence and deprivation” in 20 countries invaded by the US Alliance since the US Government’s 9/11 false flag atrocity that killed 3,000 Americans [119, 120].
Google the phrase “deaths from violence and deprivation” and be shocked - nearly all the results are articles by Dr Gideon Polya who is subject to egregious censorship by racist and mendacious Australian, US and Western Mainstream media. The war criminal perpetrators do not want the shocking extent of their genocidal crimes to be revealed.
(10). “Preventable deaths from “life-style choice” and “political choice “ reasons.
Australia was recently number one in the world for median per capita wealth. However, presently about 100,000 Australians die preventably each year from “life-style choice” and “political choice” reasons. Of these an estimated 23,000 die from poverty. Yet these horrible realities are effectively ignored by rich Australia that is blindly committed to neoliberalism that demands maximum freedom for the smart and advantaged to endlessly exploit for private profit. The major contributors are obesity, smoking, adverse hospital events, air pollution and poverty [121]. About 1.5 million Americans die thus each year [122-124]. Self-deception, neoliberal greed and entrenched Western Mainstream lying ensure that the carnage continues
(11). Existential threat from nuclear weapons.
Nuclear weapons represent an existential threat to Humanity and the Biosphere. Thus a nuclear winter from a major nuclear exchange would kill most life [125]. Stephen Hawking: “We see great peril if governments and societies do not take action now to render nuclear weapons obsolete and to prevent further climate change” [126]. Australian Labor Party Policy is to join most of Humanity to sign and ratify the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons (TPNW) that demands that State Parties reject support for the manufacture, deployment or use of nuclear weapons “in any way”. However the cowardly, mendacious, nuclear terrorism-complicit and US lackey Australian Labor Government refuses to follow Labor Party policy, rejects the TPNW and by military collaboration supports US, UK and Apartheid Israeli nuclear terrorism [127]. Thus the US lackey Australian Labor Government has made Australia a prime nuclear target through the Pine Gap joint US-Australia electronic spying base (crucial for US war-making and nuclear terrorism) and by allowing the US to base US soldiers, nuclear-armed submarines and nuclear-armed B-52 bombers in Australia [129]. Serial war criminal and Zionist-perverted Trump America proposes to resume nuclear testing.
(12). Existential threat from climate change.
Humanity is existentially threatened by climate change [125, 126, 129]. The Paris Agreement “ideal target” of not more than plus 1.5C of warming was exceeded in 2023 and will be permanently exceeded in the next few years. The atmospheric levels of the greenhouse gases CO2, CH4 and N2O are at record highs and increasing at record high rates. The recent COP30 in Brazil was a disastrous failure – it made no commitment to phase out fossil fuels or end deforestation, and the $1.5 trillion per year of climate action finance that COP30 supported [130-132] is woefully inadequate (the inescapable global Carbon Debt for future generations is $250 trillion and increasing at $13 trillion each year, while that for Australia is $5 trillion and increasing at about $0.6 trillion each year and at $69,000 per head per year for under-30 year old Australians) [93, 129]. Australia is among world leaders in climate criminality – largely ignored by the Mainstream, although Australia has 0.3% of the world’s population Australia’s annual Domestic plus Export greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions are 5.4% of the world’s total [133]. The Australian Labor Government has approved over 30 new fossil fuel projects with more in the pipeline. Australia is among world leaders for fossil fuel exports and deforestation but was awarded the chair for negotiations at COP31! Anti-science Trump regards climate science as a “hoax” and has removed the US from the Paris Agreement. The World is heading for a catastrophic plus 3C by 2100. In the absence of requisite action it is expertly predicted that 10 billion people will perish this century in a Climate Genocide en route to a sustainable human population of only 1 billion by 2100 [129].
(13). “All human rights for all”.
All decent people accept “all human rights for all” and indeed democratic Australia and the West are particularly vocal about their asserted moral superiority in this respect. However when it comes to the human rights of Palestinians the West and Australia are “Progressive Excepting Palestinians” (PEP), a notable example being the much lauded pro-women’s rights US Supreme Court Judge, Ruth Bader Ginsberg, who nevertheless like the West in general was fervently pro-Israel and utterly ignored the Palestinian Genocide [134]. Of about 15 million mostly impoverished Palestinians in 2022 (now 14 million in 2025, about 1 million having been killed by Zionist Israelis since 7 October 2023), 7 million are Exiled Palestinians (excluded from living in their own country continuously occupied by their Semitic forebears for 4,000 years) , 5.6 million Occupied Palestinians (excluded for 58 years from all the human rights set out in the 30 Articles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), from most of their country, and from voting for the government ruling them), and 2.1 million Israeli Palestinians (able to vote for the government ruling them - albeit for Zionist-vetted candidates – and subject to 65 race-based, Nazi-style and discriminatory laws in Apartheid Israel that violates some 15 major International Laws and Conventions (for a detailed and exhaustively documented account that has been totally censored by Australia’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, DFAT, see [98]).
For over 25 months the World (including the West and Australia) has looked on as Zionazi Apartheid Israel bombed ancient, huge, and super-important Gaza to rubble and killed 875,000 Gazans over 2 years, with the dead in this Gaza Genocide and Gaza Holocaust including 325,000 children, 207,000 women and 342,000 men [6-17]. Indeed the Zionist-perverted West, US and Australia remain fervent supporters of Zionazi Apartheid Israel. While many Germans after 8 May 1945 would say “We didn’t know it was happening”, Americans, Australians and Westerners cannot say this – the genocidal horror is on their TV news every day, and the killing continues despite the asserted “Ceasefire”.
The solution to the “conflict” is simple and immediate – all the Indigenous Palestinians are given “all human rights for all” (as in post-Apartheid South Africa) on pain of draconian Boycotts, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) against Apartheid Israel and all its racist supporters. However the genocidally racist and egregiously mendacious Zionist Israeli minority (that has ruled all of Palestine plus neighbouring territory for 58 years) says no. The morally degenerate West will continue to support Zionazi Apartheid Israel, and the Zionazis will participate in Eurovision and the World Cup. Those who support Apartheid Israel and hence the utterly vile crime of Apartheid are unfit for decent company, public life and public office.
(14). Irreversible ecocide, speciescide, omnicide and terracide.
You must not destroy what you cannot replace. Modern technology means that icons of human civilization can be re-created. High resolution digital photography can re-create the Leonardo Da Vinci’s “Mona Lisa”. 3D printing can re-create Michelangelo’s “Pieta”. But a unique species once rendered extinct is effectively gone forever in the context of the mass extinctions (speciescides) and ecocides of the present Anthropocene era, the sixth mass extinction event in the history of life on Earth. Australia is a world leader in species extinctions and is among the world leaders in the climate criminality of fossil fuel exploitation, yet Mainstream lying falsely claims that Australia is a responsible global citizens as the Great Barrier Reef faces 99% loss within decades.
(15). Extraordinary 2-decade censorship of Dr Gideon Polya: What Australian Mainstream media and politicians don’t want Australians to see, know about or think about.
30 years ago I started researching and publishing about the WW2 Bengal Holocaust but it had only very slight traction in racist and lying Mainstream Australia, and the racist Western lying about this atrocity continues. About 20-25 years ago the ABC (Australia’s taxpayer-funded equivalent of the UK BBC) allowed me to make 3 nation-wide broadcasts (about the Bengal Famine, universities and civilian deaths in Iraq, respectively) but since then they have not mentioned my name, let alone my serious concerns as a humanitarian scholar. Likewise other this Mainstream media made me effectively invisible to Mainstream Australia.
Nevertheless I Quixotically continued trying to make a Hole in the Mainstream Wall of Silence but with limited success. Thus in 3 decades I have published about 1,000 typically 7 huge and exhaustively referenced humanitarian articles and 10 huge books (this including several hugely updated revised editions) but overwhelmingly published overseas [28-31]. However apart from several articles in Alternative media and several Letters to the Editor, my “voice” in Mainstream Australia was extremely limited. My science-informed comments on articles in The Conversation, Facebook and Twitter quickly led to me being blocked.
The Occupied Palestinian Breakout from the Gaza Concentration Camp on 7 October 2023 was extremely unwise as adjudged from extremely disproportionate Israeli reprisals in the past. Thus the Occupied/Occupier Reprisals Death Ratio in the period 2008-6 October 2023 was 20.8 as compared to 10 ordered by Hitler and immediately executed in the Ardeatine Massacre in Rome in 1944. In October 2023 I commented: “At the National Press Club on October 25, Israeli ambassador to Australia Amir Maimon declared: “You do not measure … the adherence of a nation to the international law by the toll of casualties on the other side.” Holocaust-impacted people such as myself and other decent folk would think otherwise. As of October 25 [2023] , the occupied Palestinian/occupier Israeli reprisals death ratio — 6,000 killed in Gaza and 1,500 fighters killed in Israel against 1,400 Israelis killed = 5.4, as compared with the occupied/occupier reprisals death ratio of 10 ordered by Hitler and carried out in the 1944 Ardeatine Massacre. The average Gaza conflict death ratio in the past 15 years has been 20.8, thus predicting 20.8 x 1,400 = 29,000 Palestinian deaths in the present Gaza massacre. World, stop the killing” [135].
That horrific prediction has been vastly exceeded – as of 7 October 2025 the death ratio (ignoring the many Israelis killed by the high explosive firepower of the responding IDF) was 875,000/1,200 = 729 (73 times greater than the reprisals death ratio ordered by Nazi mass murderer Hitler) whereas the Occupied Palestinian /Occupier Israeli Reprisals Death Ratio was 6,407/308 = 21 in the period 2008-6 October 2023) [136-139]. Nobody could have predicted such a horrifically disproportionate and hugely genocidal response from the Zionist Israelis over 2 years of the Gaza Genocide that has killed 36% of the pre-war population of 2.4 million.
Because of this dire October 2023 prediction of such hugely disproportionate Gaza deaths I commenced writing numerous humanitarian Letters to Mainstream media (bearing witness). Each week I regularly individually addressed carefully researched Letters about the Gaza Genocide to major Mainstream media, thousands of such individually addressed Letters in all but with only about 6 published in all (a success rate of about 0.1%). Astonishingly, in about August 2025 the quality, expert-informed and progressive web magazine Pearls & Irritations (P&I) published every one of 10 Letters I submitted (a success rate of 100%). However this was too good to last – after 6 September 2025 zero (0) of my Letters have been published by P&I. I can only speculate on how and why my Letter success with P&I fell from a wonderful 100% to a continuing 0% (I haven’t given up on the high quality and progressive P&I). I have collected all of these less than 200-word Letters in a website entitled “Australian Mainstream media lying & censorship” as a testament to what Australian mainstream media don’t want their readers to see, know about or think about during one of the worst holocausts since WW2 [20]. I also addressed circa 1,000-word Letters to all Australian Federal and Victorian State MPs and to a huge body of journalists, academics and activists in Australia and abroad [27], some of which fell on fertile ground.
The World must act decisively in the face of this horrific and continuing Gaza Genocide atrocity by US-backed and US-armed Apartheid Israel. We are all obliged to (a) inform everyone we can (mendacious Western Mainstream media certainly won’t) and (b) urge and apply draconian Boycotts, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) against Apartheid Israel and all its Gaza Genocide-complicit supporters, most notably Zionist-perverted America (that has supplied the weapons, bombs and UN Security Council vetoes) and other Gaza Genocide-complicit US Alliance countries.
