If you are going to plant on top of these hills, you will want to make the best of prevailing weather. Put simply, it is best to be south facing. After all, all the rich live south facing, whereas the mills and their workers live on the north facing hills.
The other major climatic consideration is wind, which is predominantly from the west. You may want to do a ridge and furrow to protect the new plants - here it is likely to be potatoes and artichoke. The rows need to be bent a bit, so the wind doesn’t whip along the furrows.
