Saltaire is famous for its Mill, as one where its owner (Titus Salt) looked after his workers. There are pretty houses in well looked after streets. The site was given UNESCO Heritage status 'because the layout of which was to exert a major influence on the development of the "garden city" movement'.
The Mill now houses many of Hockney's famous paintings.
Outside the Mill you can see how we can grow more decent healthy food, on what had been derelict plot of land. Look out for allotments in all sorts of nooks and crannies, showing the capacity to produce more food more sustainably is quite feasible.
