THE PROPOSED DAMANSARA-SHAH ALAM HIGHWAY (DASH) HAS BEEN REMOVED FROM AMENDMENTS TO THE PETALING JAYA LOCAL DRAFT PLAN 1 AND 2 (RTPJ 2).
This was decided in a closed-door meeting attended by Petaling Jaya mayor Mohd Azizi Mohd Zain, councillors, several assemblymen and state executive councillors.
Councillor Lee Suet Sern said the Dash alignment was removed from the draft plan pending further studies.
There would also be no changes to the land zoning of the Rubber Research Institute of Malaysia near Kota Damansara and the Film Negara land beside the Tun Hussein Onn Eye Hospital at Section 52.
“There was a proposal to rezone it to mixed commercial.
“However, there needs to be proper studies conducted first,” he said.
Another proposal was to have a higher plot ratio for development projects near locations with public transportation hubs of 1:6 compared to the existing 1:4.
A higher plot ratio means a bigger built-up area for development projects, leading to greater population density and more traffic.
At yesterday’s closed-door meeting, it was decided that the plot ratio for Transit Oriented Developments (TOD) remain at 1:4, said Lee.
It was also decided that 27 houses at SS24 will remain zoned as residential instead of limited commercial as proposed.
A public hearing date to view the amendments for the draft plans has yet to be determined.
