Now you know about FIGnition: it's the only computer so simple you can build it, code it and understand it! So why not buy it?

It's easy to buy a FIGnition; over 1000 have been shipped since May 2011 including around 600 FUZE kits since April 2012! FIGnition FUZE is available directly from this site, and is now also available with bundled extras from RS Components as FIGnition inFUZE!

You can also order a combo package of FIGnition with FIGkeys (the FIGnition PS/2 Interface) and save on postage! Note: if you do this, the earliest estimated shipping date will be mid-January 2014 and both kits will be delivered together. Your FIGnition will work independently of FIGkeys; you can build each kits one at a time.

Ordering A FIGnition from the UK

International Orders

Currently, for both UK and International order, the easiest way to buy a FIGnition is through Paypal. All you need to do is log in; make a payment to TheOriginalSnial@gmail.com and supply your address. If you have an opportunity, please let me know how you came across FIGnition!

FIGnition is available for both PAL and NTSC regions, when you place an order, let me know which video firmware you need!

FIGnition is costed at £19.77 + Postage given by the UK Royal Mail price finder according to whether you want standard or recorded/signed-for delivery. I'm perfectly happy if you send the money in your local currency, but I always set the price based on today's exchange rate from the BBC. Examples in GBP are given below (correct as of April 2014):

If you want to order more than one FIGnition internationally, please email me first for a quote, as shipping costs will be much more cost effective and I charge shipping at cost price.

My current delivery policy is send kits within one or two days of an order. When I send your FIGnition I'll invite you to the FIGnition google group (based on your contact email address paypal sends me) where you'll be able to get advice and information about the current activities in the FIGnition world, such as new programs, ideas, exhibitions or makerfaires.

Kit Contents

When FIGnition is sold, in all cases, FIGnition is supplied as a kit. You'll get a remittance slip to say thanks for buying a FIGnition; the circuit board; all the components and its AVR Microcontroller will be pre-programmed. Note: you won't get a phono lead, nor a USB lead as I assume most people have more than enough cables at home already! Assembly instructions are published on this site.

Construct It

Although it will cost you a bit more in effort and money, you can construct a FIGnition using nothing more than basic soldering equipment the raw set of components and veroboard.

You'll find the hardware and software for FIGnition is fully opened-sourced on GitHub and includes the source code for the keyboard driver, the startup screen, the video generator; the Forth virtual machine; the Forth compiler; the Flash disk driver as well as the Osmond X circuit layout and the circuit layout for the Veroboard version using my open-source stripboard designer: Stripes.

Education

To date, over 200 FIGnition kits have been ordered by UK educational institutions including schools and colleges and Universities for STEM* clubs and workshops. For business reasons it may be inconvenient to buy through Paypal or the shopping cart and in these cases it's best to contact me and then we'll follow a more formal purchasing procedure:

For bulk orders I can easily supply tens of kits at short notice and hundreds of kits within a few weeks (for example, October 2012's Strathclyde University order of 160 kits took three weeks to deliver).
