About the league
The Levenshulme and District Clubs Snooker League, which was founded in 1963, is based in South Manchester and aims to promote the game of snooker and to foster the spirit of good fellowship and sportmanship amongst all those that play the game.
We currently have 30 teams, from 20 different clubs across south Manchester, from Denton to Sale
There are more than 300 registered players
Teams play in two divisions. Three teams are promoted each season, two automatically and one after a play-off
League matches are played on Thursday evenings.
Teams are made up of six players.
In addition to the league, teams also take part in cup competitions
Five individual competitions are held each season, giving opportunities to players of all ages and abilities
We also run a 3 man team competition and our very popular one day Pairs event
All registered players can also take part in competitions involving other leagues, with the Greater Manchester Inter-League Tournament and the new Manchester Open
The league has an on-line discussion forum; to visit it click here

Player Registration
A list of players to be registered must be submitted at the July meeting
Further players may be registered at later meetings or by phone to the Match Secretary; additional fees and restricted handicaps will apply to players registered after 1st January
Handicaps
All league and cup matches are played off handicaps; a list of current handicaps will be published at every monthly Delegates’ meeting
Handicaps are adjusted monthly on the basis of league games won and lost, and on the margin of victory or defeat. Breaks, cup games and individual competitions are not taken into account.
New Players
With your list of registered new players we need a realistic guide to their ability. Handicaps in the league range from -25 to +36.
No new players may start on more than +20
New players are subject to a double adjustment for each of their first ten league frames; this ensures that an appropriate handicap is reached as soon as possible.
Results
The home team must send a match card (signed by both captains) to the Match Secretary after each match.
Prompt submission of results enables the details on the website to be kept up to date
All cards must arrive by the following Wednesday at the latest. A £1.00 fine must be paid for every late card
Results may also be sent on the results form on the league website (www.levsnooker.com) or by email to young.42@tesco.net
Enter all breaks over 30 on the match card; a cash prize is paid at each meeting to the highest break since the previous meeting
