Wieland Beach - 2016

This small sandy beach alongside Wieland Road is mainly used by the local community.

Water quality is monitored for E.coli at the start of each swim season by the Bonnechere River Watershed Project and the Ottawa River Institute to confirm the historical record of excellent quality water. The beach is unsupervised with no amenities. The drop off is sandy with a short distance to a swimmable depth.

Parking is not allowed but is available at nearby Sebastapol Museum on Opeongo Rd.

Things to SEE and DO

The area is excellent for paddling to several nearby Crown islands some of which provide over night camping as well as to one of only two designated Old Growth forests in Renfrew County - refer to the yellow placemarks on this Satellite map for interesting sites to visit..
