Since its founding in 2001 Ottawa Riverkeeper has had a very positive impact on the Ottawa River watershed through its network of scientists, riverwatchers and relationships with prominent decision makers at various levels of government and industry. Riverkeeper is one of over 290 Waterkeeper organizations in 34 countries protecting waterways around the world.
BRWP and ORI in collaboration with Riverkeeper provides support to anyone with questions, interest or wishing to to share observations of Nature. The summer of 2016 saw the launch of two projects that could be of interest to Lake Clear residents:

In 2017 Lake Clear will be monitored to see how far into the Ottawa River watershed microplastics might prevail. Sampling will be done by BRWP in late summer at the entrance to Hurds Creek.
