Memorials of the Dead

NOTE:-  One of the important way to discover families is to find all births and deaths. I have spent a small fortune with Glasnevin Trust, now rebranded as Dublin Cemeteries Trust to discover the graves of my ancestors and all their siblings and children.

Dublin Cemeteries Trust have now disabled searching for any deaths of any person under 1 year old!!!! Even a death in 1846. That is the 19th century!  The reason they give is GDPR regulations!   Now fortunately I have all the graves I need in Glasnevin, but for others it will be a real problem.  A couple of other facts not well known, St Mobhi's used to be an angels graveyard, it was a sloping part, down to the Tolka River. This slope has been leveled off. Now you can buy a new grave there. Unfortunately you will find a dozen or more of my family is buried with you! An other Angels Plot was the mass grave of the Cholera Victims of 1867. And where one Knox 2nd cousin is buried , is in the Smallpox victims of 1872 mass grave . But perhaps the real reason the Dublin Cemeteries Trust has used GPDR regulations are the babies who died in St Gerards 36 Mountjoy Square. This place was active a lot longer than the government report.

Dublin my darling Dublin, is now dead and gone and GDPR regulations are being ABUSED!

Here you find a memorial of the dead for the  Family (Knox, Mackey, Crosbie, Pidgeon), most of  these burials were in Glasnevin.  Later burials were in Mount Jerome/Dardistown/Palmerstown/Deansgrange/St Fintans/Fingal/Balgriffin/Clontarf etc.

I have included a map of Glasnevin Cemetery with  a navigation guide. Of importance to my Crosbie Extended Family is the little Cemetery in Killeek Co. Dublin. This cemetery is close to St. Margaret's where Alexander Murray and Mary Lumley lived in the 1830's and 1840's. Most of the interments there would be 4th 5th and 6th cousin levels.
