Embedded Files
Retrieving the value in a cell that exists in another Google Sheets file is simple. Just put this formula in a destination cell.
=IMPORTRANGE("[replace document key here]","[sheet name]![cell name]")
Edit the formula by replacing the first bracket with Google Sheets file key (find this key in the file URL), the second bracket with the sheet name that hosts the cell and the third bracket with the cell name (if defined) or cell co-ordinate.
Please notice the mark "!" between the second and third brackets.
