Paths are a poly-line between several points. The icon for placing a path looks like this:
1. Click on the path tool - this will bring up the New Path dialogue box
Similar to the Placemark and Polygon tools, we can add a title and a description and see some additional information about the path here. One of the most useful things that you can do is change the width and color, in the second tab:
2. Click where you want to create the path - To create a path, simply start left clicking around. Left clicking will add points, and right clicking will delete points.
(remove/replace)
3. Additional options
A path can give you information on distance and altitude using the elevation profile tool. Access this by right clicking on the path in the Places menu, then choosing 'Show Elevation profile'
Below you can see the profile along the bottom. If you move your mouse along the profile you will see a red arrow following the path at your location. To close the path, click on the 'X' on the top right of the elevation window.
