What Happens Inside

While I'm outside playing with the sewer hose and hooking up the electrical connection, Donna is inside getting things ready. I appreciate this, for when I finish outside, I'm usually ready to clean up some and get something to drink. She always has this ready. Here is a partial list of what she does.

    • Once the slide is extended, the back chairs and lamp table are set up.
    • The dinette is raised from its travel location to a standing position. This is a tedious chore.
    • Towels, soap, and other bathroom items are ready for use.
    • All the little things that must be secured when traveling are put in place. For example, we have a mirror we hang over the bathroom door. When traveling, we place it on our bed between the covers for protection. After arriving at our campsite, Donna retrieves it and hangs it on the door.
    • Once the electricity is connected, she switches the fridge to shore power and sets the microwave clock. This is important. When I retired, I threw away my watch, so I rely on that microwave for the time when we are traveling.
    • The water filter is cleaned and the process of filtering water is started.
    • Depending on the weather, windows are opened, the AC is started, or the heater is turned on.
    • Picnic table slab is swept off and table clothe is secured on table.
    • Outside chairs are set up on carpeted area.

And there are numerous other chores Donna does that I don't even know about.

We usually finish our chores about the same time. Then, after driving for several hours, then spending about an hour checking in and setting up, it's time to relax, hopefully outside under the awning.
