Front-to-back Leveling

Front-to-back leveling as opposed to side-to-side leveling is much easier, at least for my situation. Before proceeding, I will assume that you have already read the page on "Side-to-side Leveling", and I will not repeat principles discussed there.

After we have leveled the trailer from side-to-side, I then disconnect the trailer from the TV (tow vehicle) and Donna pulls the truck a few feet away from the trailer. I then look at the stick-on-level I have attached to the side of the trailer to see how level the trailer is from front-to-back. Then it is a simple matter for me to use the electric hitch to either raise or lower the front of the trailer until the trailer is level. That's really about all there is to it.

After I get it level, I then put the stabilizer jacks in place. Once these are secured, I check the level again as it may have been affected by applying the jacks. Some minor adjustments here or there may be necessary. At this time, our trailer should be level, and we are ready to continue setting up the trailer.
