Extending the PLM Platform for Supporting Micro Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME)

About PLM@KIIT University:
The Center for Building Competence in Product Lifecycle Management (PLM Center) was established in the School of Management, KIIT University with the support of Dassault Systemes (DS) in 2009 to impart quality management education through project-based learning, carry out research, training, consultancy, and capacity building of Industry. Since MSMEs form a large part of the Indian economy, they constitute a significant part of the supply base of large industrial companies. Hence, an initiative was taken to extend the PLM platform to these enterprises. Prof. Kaushik Sahu representing the PLM Center signed one MoU with Design Aided Lean Manufacturing Adapt Production (DALMAP) represented by Dr. Niladri Prasad Gantayet on 21st March 2015 (for two years). DALMAP is a Registered Association under Trust Act of micro enterprises in various clusters in Odisha engaged in manufacturing for making artisanal products and household items, as well as MSMEs engaged in manufacturing of industrial products and registered under the MSMED Act.
Activities initiated:
A collaborative space is currently being developed by DALMAP around the IPR Cell of Central Tool Room and Training Center (CTTC), Bhubaneswar, to bring together various organizations working in the MSME sector. The resource support from KIIT PLM Center is as follows:
