Supply Chain Management
This program is meant for Senior Managers of Small, Medium and Large Scale Enterprises who are seeking opportunities for improvement beyond their own organizational boundaries. This program is a sequel to the program announced separately titled "Total Quality Management for Small Businesses". If your organization is not quality conscious, then you are urged to enroll in the first program before enrolling in this program.
This program is meant to create awareness on the desirability of supply chain management (SCM) concepts for the Indian Industry. The focus will be on integrated supply chain management concepts. The integration of the physical (material flow) and virtual (information flow) value chain across multiple organizations will be highlighted. The emphasis will be on cross-functional approaches to supply chain management, including marketing, sales, research and development, finance and accounting, manufacturing/operations, and information technology.
The participants will get a chance to rethink the way their organization integrates suppliers, production and distribution in the globally competitive economy. The training is to be conducted in a participative manner where both the small industry (i.e. the supplier) and the large industry (i.e. the customer) will be required to interact. Such interactions would facilitate better communication of the quality needs of the organizational customer to its vendors. Thus, the participants would comprise of the representatives of the larger organization who would be in a position to explain the core processes of their different units along with a limited group of small-scale industries representing their suppliers. The idea is to develop several such modules with different small industry segments catering to the needs of various large organizations.
The unique feature of this program is to develop a follow-up module for conducting customized action-based training programs for key supply chain members. We will also develop an action plan for launching the platform to facilitate all future interactions between the large industry and the small-scale suppliers.
This program will also be helpful in catering to the quality needs of large Organizations, such as, TISCO, NALCO, HAL, SAIL, L&T, IMFA, NTPC, GRIDCO, OHPC and other enterprises located in this region. Since this program is sponsored by SIDBI and is meant for Small Scale Industries we will expect the large Organizations rendering support to their development.
