Research Funds:
- (2009-10 to 2014-15) Supported KSoM- KIIT University in establishing the Center for building Competence in Product Lifecycle Management. It supports the Technology & Operations Management courses. Students engage actively in developing product concepts in the product design and development course [list available separately]. Though research funds could not be mobilized MoUs with industry (Dassault Systemes & TechMahindra) were facilitated to establish the center.
- (Since 2005) Anchoring activities around a "virtual" CENTER FOR MANUFACTURING AND TECHNOLOGY MANAGEMENT (CMTM) at KIIT Bhubaneswar. The first Ph.D in Design Technology Management was awarded in 2013. The scope of the research involved identifying the firm level design deficit that inhibits competitiveness of Indian firms.
- DSIR sponsorship for establishing a Center for Manufacturing and Technology Management [2005]. Instrumental in facilitating a grant from the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR) to setup a Center for Manufacturing and Technology Management at XIM Bhubaneswar prior to joining KIIT.
- AICTE funds for the Computer-aided Product and Process Development (CAPPD) Laboratory [1999]. Please see this report for the RID Impact Assessment study. RID stands for Research and Institutional Development Bureau of AICTE.
- Visited UFSIA Antwerp, Belgium under the faculty exchange program. Dr Sahu's work was in line with the long-term interest of establishing a Manufacturing Management Program. Attempts initiated to get R&D funds in the thrust areas of INTELLIGENT DESIGN AND MANUFACTURING SYSTEMS. [1997]

- Rourkela Steel Plant, SAIL: Was invited as a guest speaker to deliver a talk titled "Building the nation through Materials Management & the growing impact of Supply Chain Management" on the Materials Management Day (April 23, 2004) organized by the Indian Institute of Materials Management at Rourkela Steel Plant. Focus of my talk, among other things, was to highlight the importance of VALUE and Business Ethics – a course that has been neglected in the IIMs but not in XIMB. Bottomline: The roots of Indian Businesses will get strengthened only through “value-added ethic”. [transcript attached]
- Infosys, Bhubaneswar: Invited talk on "The Seven Principles of Supply Chain Management". I was helping them develop a computer-based module for supply chain management. They were allowed to study our SCM course design (available online) to develop their own repository for in-house training. [30 July 2002]
