There are two ways to gamify music videos: LyricsTraining.com and competitive quiz platforms like Kahoot and Quizizz. LyricsTraining is a teacher-fronted activity, so no mobile devices are necessary. When playing multiple choice mode, the whole class can participate just by watching the screen and shouting out their answers. Quizizz can go either way. When doing listening in the past, I found that students' devices sometimes did not have the sound settings right, so they couldn't play. It was a big hassle, so I played the Quizizz on the desktop computer and made it teacher-fronted by calling on students to come and click the mouse. Quizizz now has a game mode like Kahoot, so it's possible to let the kids play together on mobile devices. But, Kahoot is still my go-to game center for listening games. The video will show in a small screen and then students can answer the questions.
