Within the context of this event we will explore and create intuitively beginning with a specific labyrinth template of your choice, or learn to map out your own. The process in creating your own labyrinth is a very unique experience and each person will have a different outcome to the balancing effect during its making, as well any after encounters.
The overall impact of using both left brain and right brain is implemented as the path of the labyrinth leads us from left to right – within and without. A whole brain interaction is experienced while being in a ‘creative thinking’ state during the process itself.
These are wonderful to share or keep as a personal guidance tool.
“let the journey of your soul guide you to the places within”
Labyrinth events are held in honour of Solstices and Equinoxes, four times yearly.
Within the context of this event you we will explore and create intuitively beginning with a specific labyrinth template of your choice or learn to map out your own.
This unique event will provide hands on creating of your own Labyrinth work of art. We will explore with colour and form to reveal what lays within by using the template of the labyrinth as a basis in making your own transformative creation. Labyrinths are wonderful to share or keep as a personal guidance tool.
Basic art supplies will be provided: 10” x 10” canvas board, acrylic paints, brushes, rulers and compass. Please feel free to bring any other item you would like to create your masterpiece on, such as tiling, small table, clothing, etc. as well as any embellishments and extra art supplies you may prefer or need (keep to water soluble materials).
WHAT IS A LABYRINTH?
A labyrinth is a complex geometric symbol found throughout thousands of years and many cultures worldwide and is based on simple forms that are derived from the archetypal patterns of Nature. Labyrinth designs can be made with a compass and straight edge, the metaphorical tools of creation. Labyrinths are in the domain of Sacred Geometry, where one goal is to produce a temple, a meeting place between Heaven and Earth. Today as the labyrinth symbolizes the spiritual it is implemented as a tool for meditation, focus, release, healing and creativity. When used in group ceremonies the labyrinth naturally creates a sense of community and Oneness.
Your facilitator, Joanna C. Cooke, has been working with sacred geometry and using the templates of labyrinths, the flower of life and other forms of sacred geometry in her art form and building projects for over ten years. Combining her work as a Colour Therapist and Visionary Artist she creates an experience that is inclusively shared at each event.
No art experience is necessary – only an open mind & heart to bring out the creative seed within.
