Art As Healer

Importance Of

Sacred Arts & Symbolism

In and of itself: sacred arts are anything that we put into action that is of a creative task -  simple or complex, experienced or novice, enthralled or explorative.....beginning with the thought to create is where it all expands from into a sacred experience.  Cooking, gardening, building, writing, painting, sewing, etc., all give space to artistically expressing ourselves.

So how does the aspect of integrative healing work into this ?  and what about symbolism?

First let us look at symbolism .  the visual icons we are magnetized to are usually based on religion, family, culture, environment,  education and nature.  We must personally look to what images have made an impact in our lives from all sources.  To examine and research their meanings and any beliefs, myths, stories and truths that you connect with.  Throughout time visual images have played significant roles all over the planet as to how the sharing of history has been passed on.  There is a deep joining to feeling connected with symbolic images.

Finding and using your personal symbols in whatever form of expression you feel, is extremely empowering and enforces these qualities into your being. This in itself is a balancing act.

If you are not sure what you are drawn to symbolically, an amazing place to begin is with sacred geometry...a few print articles to heed from before we could instantly look up everything and some great links to further the journey.
