Creating a Google Website

Creating a Google Site is a fun and easy way to organize what you want to present to the world. No knowledge of HTML, JavaScript or Cascading Style Sheets is needed. There is no software to buy, or monthly fees to pay. Bring your gMail Login and password to class and know how to log in and send email. JilMac can work with you the week before class to set up a gMail account if you don't have one. You can also set up a domain name to access your site. Class limited to 12 students.

  • Google Sites are SAFE, Robust, Free, Easy to Learn, and Easy to UPDATE. They are perfect for Non-Profits, Friends, Favors, Volunteer Groups, as well as the ability to handle most of your needs with ease!

  • Combine the collaborative features of Google Documents to create web pages that can be easily updated and maintained by a single person, multiple people, group of people or the world.

  • Sites can be set up as an IntraNet only viewable to a few people or as an Internet site available to the world.

  • Your G-Mail login is your gateway to the collaborative & ever expanding world called GOOGLE. And Google Sites is how you organize those tools into a cohesive whole.

If you would like your own Domain Name to access the site, rather than, for example, http://sites.google.com/site/VermontCobbleProject– you can purchase one for around $13 per year. All you need for this class is basic computer skills, email, document editing and access to the internet.
