Dr. Xiang received funding from NSF to organize an US-China workshop on biodiversity study with coPI Dr. Brian Wiegmann in Entomology. The workshop "Building US-China Collaboration in Biodiversity Studies - Frontier Issues, New Approaches, and Opportunities" will be held in Raleigh, North Carolina from October 16th to 18th, 2015.
This workshop will bring together scientists from the United States and China who are internationally recognized for their work in Biodiversity. The purpose of the workshop is to build more US-China Collaborations in the area of biodiversity studies. The workshop will lay the foundation for multi-institutional collaborations that will lead to advances in frontier issues, new approaches, and opportunities for additional collaborative research on biodiversity during the meeting at North Carolina State University and the nearby North Carolina Natural History Museum. Field trips to visit field research sites will also be organized to enhance participants’ interactions. The workshop is supported by a collaborative grant from NSF China and NSF USA.
