Hello everyone!
We had a full house and a full schedule on Tuesday including 5 speeches and 19 attendees!! We had 16 members and 3 guests - Melody, Kevin, and June - WELCOME! Linda Le turned in her membership application at the meeting and Marla announced that she had officially joined as well.
The meeting started on time and we quickly filled roles. We skipped the tip, thought, and humor of the day to make room for our 5 speakers: Nannette, Ryan, Doug, Fernando, and Sonny.
Nannette gave her icebreaker speech "Ask and Ye Shall Receive." We got to know her and learn about her favorite strategy for manifesting what you want in life - just ASK! She shared how heartfelt prayer ensured safe travels from Vietnam to the USA, and brought to her an amazing husband and family.
Ryan also completed his icebreaker speech "The Harder you Work the Luckier you Get" espousing his philosophy on how to get what you want. We learned how he worked hard to get where he is in life, and how lucky he feels to have his work, wife, and two daughters.
Doug persuaded us to take longer vacations in his speech "Give Me a Break" to fulfill his objectives for speech #7: Research Your Topic. He clearly showed us how taking extended time off = greater productivity and how working harder = less productivity.
Fernando shared with us a humorous speech about an adventurous option for travelers in his speech "A Bottle of Tequila." This was Fernando's 9th speech and he met his objectives to persuade with power (and tequila). He shared the many perks of backpacking to over 60 countries.
Sonny gave his tenth speech entitled "Feel Your Body." In his speech he gave us tips on moving our awareness out of our mind in to our body. He met his objective to inspire his audience with his speech, and the fact that he completed his CC Manual in 3 short months. Congratulations!
After the speeches were given, we heard excellent evaluations for each of the speakers, and then we breezed through the grammar, time, and filler words as we were in overtime.
I gave a brief evaluation of the meeting and noted the flow of the speech titles. I reminded everyone to ask and ye shall receive, while you are waiting, work harder to get luckier, then take a break, have a bottle of tequila, and feel your body :)
I think that sums it up!
Have a great week.
See you next Tuesday,
Dana
