Found everywhere in summer. Male sings incessantly during the day, changing tone of song or stopping altogether when threatened. When fully developed, nymph emerges from soil, it climbs a stem, undergoes internal changes and moults into adult phase. Empty nymph skin often seen attached to stems in early summer. Very common in Malta.
