SLIDE 2: General Background -- start with some puzzle, mystery, something interesting, instead of ancient Greece.

Incidentally, ALL THREE CLAIMS of ALEXIOUS seem to be SERIOUSLY WRONG>

SLIDE 3: Continues to discuss collection of irrelevant points not tied together by any FOCUS. WHAT IS THE OBJECT OF RESEARCH? WHAT problem are we trying to solve. FIRST this must be clarified. Then we can assess what kind of information is NEEDED to solve the problem ONLY information NECESSARY to solve research problem should be presented. DOES IT MATTER if Greeks were first to discuss happiness? If there is a LINK between this information and your research problem THEN and ONLY THEN should it be presented.

SLIDE 4, 5, 6: Lit Review IS FOCUSED on determinants of happiness. This is GOOD thing, and one that most students did not succeed in doing. YOU need to make organize it better and make it MORE RELEVANT. Slide 7 does present a chart which ORGANIZES the determinants. BUT you need to consider HOW you will measure each of these determinants in YOUR research. IF you cannot, then you should indicate that literature considers this to be a determinant, but I cannot measure it so I will not deal with it in my study.

SLIDE 7: An organized presentation of determinants in the literature -- GOOD.

SLIDE 8: Presents some justification for study -- although reasons listed are not very convincing. Still, it is a good effort.

SLIDE 9: repeat, also not accurate -- you are NOT going to measure impact of civilization on happiness.

SLIDE 10: Data source is OK. Can y ou survey all 527 households? It is an expensive proposition.

SLIDE 11: SOURCE for model should be cited, and alteernatives mentioned. The variables do nnot MATCH the determinants listed earlier, making the lit review consist of IRRELEVANT factors -- ALL effort should be made to cover determinants listed in lit review within the MODEL estimated. Who has donne ordered probit? YOU MUST CITE SOURCE or this is plagiarism

SLIDE 12: just a repeat of previous slide.

SLIDE 13: Repeats general vague ideas, most of it is false, and also unrelated to research in question. How do we know if increasing happiness will cause their cullture to flourish?

OVERALL -- please see other people who have done happiness, adn their comments. Your study on MICRO DETERMINANTS of happiness should cite related literature which you have not done.
