I knew I wanted to become a teacher a while ago. My mom has pictures of me in front of a chalkboard teaching my stuffed animals. If I couldn't be a teacher, I think I would be a counselor.
Did you complete student teaching before becoming a teacher? If so, describe that experience.
I student taught at the worst school in South Bend, Indiana. There was a school that shut down, so the good students went to one school, and ok students went to another school, and the bad students went to my school. It was a pretty rough school but I chose it because I wanted to have as many experiences as I could, and I knew I would get it from that school
How many years of experience to you have in the classroom? Do you plan to remain a teacher or do you have other career aspirations?
This is my 11th year in the classroom. I do plan on getting my doctorate and teaching in the collegiate level, but for the moment I am planning on staying in the classroom.
