Part 1: College Resume
- You will complete a resume that documents your high school accomplishments both in and outside the classroom. This resume can be used when asking for teacher recommendations, applying for scholarships, etc.
- You may use the template I provide for you (attached here), but you don't have to. You can use your own template if you'd prefer.
- Remember, this is not the same as a job resume. Your high school resume will highlight your greatest academic and extracurricular accomplishments.
Part 2: James Baldwin and Kendrick Lamar Global Issues Comparative Essay
- You will read three essays by James Baldwin and listen to an album by Kendrick Lamar. You will identify a global issue that exists in these texts and will write a comparative essay.
- The detailed assignment is attached here. Below are also links to the three essays by Baldwin and the album by Lamar.

Both parts of your Summer Assignment must be EITHER a) submitted on Google classroom OR b) emailed to me no later than 9:00 a.m. on the first day of school in Fall 2020.
If you cannot email your assignment or submit it on Classroom, you must let me know BEFORE the first day of school. Please be in contact if you have any questions or concerns.
