Bailey Dogwood: Large accent shrub or hedge, bright red stems that look awesome in winter, green leaves
Ninebark (Center Glow, Tiny Wine, other varieties) : Background hedge/shrub, larger, reddish/yellow leaves
Purple Leaf Sand Cherry: Large accent shrub, dark red leaves
Weigelia: Small to medium accent, spring flowering, several varieties
Barberry (Dwarf Pygmy, Rosy Glow, etc. depending on space): Small hedge, accent; crimson (dark purple) leaves
Spiraea (Anthony Waterer, Neon Flash, Snowmound, Limemound, etc.): Accent shrub, spreading, flowering
European Cranberry Bush: Accent shrub, medium/large, yellow/lime leaves
Potentilla (Goldfinger, etc.): Small/medium shrub, accent, yellow flowers (also white varieties)
Boxwood (English dwarf, Faulkner, Green Mountain, etc..): Shaped hedge, small to medium, evergreen
English Laurel: Evergreen shrub with dark green leaves.
Golden Privet: Medium hedge, yellow/green leaves (deciduous)
Red Tip Photinea: Large accent shrub or hedge, semi-evergreen, glossy green leaves with red tips
Buckthorn (e.g., Fine Line Tallhedge): Tall, narrow privacy hedge (green, yellow in fall)
Mugo pine: Small to medium "shrub" sized evergreen (pine)
Grasses
Karl Forster Grass (also Feather Reed Grass): Most common tall, clumping grass, grows up to several feet tall, green stems with yellow heads; accent or screen
Graziella Maiden Grass: Very large clumping grass, grows quite tall... only in large spaces
Other Perennials
Daylilies: Hardy, typically yellow flowers, grows in low clumps
Lavender: Purple fragrant flowers, medium height
Salvia (ornamental sages): Purple/blue flowers typically, medium height
