Please be reminded that Howard County code makes homeowners responsible for clearing snow on all sidewalks that run along your property within 48 hours of a storm. If you fail to shovel your sidewalk, any accidents that happen on your property are the responsibility of you as the homeowner. This includes:
Sidewalks in front of your house
Walkways from the sidewalk to the parking lot
Sidewalks behind or around the corner from your house, if they touch your property
Sidewalks running up to the Columbia Association pathway. Our community pays to have the stairways shoveled.
Shoveling Tip! When you shovel out your car, do not dump snow into adjacent parking spaces. Our community has parking issues as it is, and blocking parking spaces with snow just encourages your neighbors to park in that space you worked so hard to shovel out.
