Working with Picture Books
This interactive workshop explores the value of picture books in helping students with social-emotional issues ranging from anxiety to dealing with transitions. This will be a collaborative session where ideas from the group will be welcomed, in combination with the presenters’ expertise and experience. Delegates will be provided with a wide range of ideas and applications to take away. During the session a recommended reading list will be shared, together with practical ideas and activities to accompany the texts.
Claire is a School Counsellor at Tanglin Trust School, Singapore. Claire has a Masters Degree in Guidance and Counselling and has a Graduate Diploma in Solution Focused Brief Therapy. She is also a qualified teacher with fifteen years teaching experience. She is passionate about helping young people discover the strengths within and use picture books as a tool for helping them deal with and understand social-emotional issues.
