In 2017 I stood at the gates as a project employee of the NS when they were closed for 50%, 75% or completely. My job was to inform people about closing the gates and how they could get through the gates, but 8 out of 10 I was answering questions in Dutch, English and sometimes in Spanish and French. The questions where mostly about:
What time does my train leave?
How does the vending machine work to fill up my card with money?
Can I still use a paper ticket?
What happened because my train isn’t running?
The last question is the one question I as project employee couldn’t answer because I had less knowledge of the problem then the NS itself. I could only point them to NSpeople. Mostly the people traveling with ns were nice, but sometimes I had some scums.
