This is a great way to see friends and lots of the runners! You may also get to say about 10 words to everyone you know in line! 😀
It is very important to get the right bib to the right person, so please double check that you have the right bib for the right person! Mistakes can happen, but it is helpful to take that extra few seconds per bib to verify the correct owner rather than the RD and timer having to figure out why the results aren't correct. 😞
When you volunteer for bib pickup, you'll be seated at a table doing the following:
Asking the runner their name
Looking up the runner name from a list to find their bib number
Getting the bib with that number from a stack of bibs
Double check the bib number matches the bib number on the sheet (this is really important!)
Handing out the bib to that runner
This tends to be a pretty fast paced job at some points, but a lot of fun!
You can volunteer for this position if you are running the race as you'll be done in time to run the race
Volunteer Check In:
Saturday morning: Check in at the Camp Tevya aid station. (Yes it tends to be a bit chaotic, but we are friendly! RD Rob and Aid Station Captain Carolina should be around helping with setup)
Saturday afternoon: Check in with the Milford aid station Captain. (Chris C. or Lori)
Sunday morning: Check in with the Camp Tevya aid station Captain. (Carolina)
