Basic Race Information
Pictured to the left is Jeff Lane, the artist who drew our logo. He is actually so tall he barely fits in the tunnel.
Fun Fact! Did you know that our very own Buddy Dougherty actually helped to install this tunnel? (way back in the day!)
Race Fun Facts:
The 15-Mile Race and 15-Mile Relay start at one of the trail and the 30-Hour Ultramarathon used to start at the other end, which is confusing. Now in 2024 the 15-Mile Race and Relay start at the same end as the 30-Hour Ultramarathon and Relay, which will really mess people up!
The 30-Hour Ultramarathon starts on Saturday at 9 am and the 15-Mile Race and Relay starts on Sunday at 9 am, which is also confusing!
The trail is haunted... Er, we mean to say that some have reported unexplained ghost, ghoul, monster and demon sightings. We're sure there's nothing really true there though...
There will be three aid stations. One at the Milford DPW, one at the Power Lines and one at Camp Tevya.
The Power Lines aid station is three miles from the Milford DPW, and 4.5 miles from Camp Tevya.
All aid stations will have water, tailwind, and snacks, as well as hot water and hot veggie broth at night. The Milford DPW and Camp Tevya aid stations will have all kinds of hot and cold foods as well as food sensitive aid areas. More details will be published closer to the race on our Facebook Group. (We hope this isn't confusing)
There will be bathroom facilities at each aid station. There is no guarantee they will light up or sing like these do, but you never know. In 2023 the porta potties were disco themed at night! All aid stations and/or porta-potties will have period products available.
The proceeds from the race will be split between the Brookline Conservation Commission and the Milford Conservation Commission. These are the organizations that make running on these trails possible. They use the money for trail improvements so running them is even more awesome. So you’ll come back. And they’ll get more money to improve the trails more. Vicious cycle, huh? (We hope that isn't confusing either!)
Results will be posted on this website to our results site within a week of the race (we need to sleep and perform at our day jobs so we need a little time).
Please join our Facebook group for up to the minute information and a lot of fun courtesy of our runners!

All details are in the Ghost Train Handbook. Please read the Handbook to learn more about the race, the rules, and all the deets! (Do the cool kids still say that?)

Pet Policy
No dogs or pets are allowed at Camp Tevya base camp, any aid stations, or any other areas of the course. We are sad to say this as we love all animals, but our insurance doesn't cover pet incidents and with hundreds of runners, pacers, crews, volunteers and families we would hate for there to be any mishaps between pets and people. (And we'd hate for any pets to be eaten by random demigorgon)
Licensed service dogs are welcomed per state and federal laws and guidelines
Open Flames Policy
Fire pits, Solo stoves, and other open flames are NOT allowed anywhere along the Ghost Train course, including the Milford DPW and Camp Tevya. If the weather and conditions allow, the race will maintain fire pits for common use at the aid stations. Thanks for understanding - we don't want to have a large number of fires and increase the risk for fire dangers!
