Hello Ghost Train Runners!
As we enjoy training in the August heat, I’d like to kindly remind you that the long-sleeve running shirts and pumpkin spice coffee will be emerging sooner than you think. Ghost Train is just over two months away!
I am super excited to see everyone on Ghost Train weekend, and the preparations are ramping up! I have a number of things I’d like everyone to be aware of, which I’ll detail below.
First, thank you for being a part of Ghost Train! Ghost Train weekend is an amazing time when we all get to see our trail family, support our fellow runners, and support the local communities. Every one of you makes this race amazing, and I couldn't be more appreciative.
Before the bullet points start, I need to mention dropping from the race. I hate starting emails with this, but many of our races now have waitlists, with people on them who are really hoping for the chance to join us. If you know you can’t be at the race for any reason, please let me know or follow the process online to drop.
Note: If you purchased the event insurance when registering, you need to follow their process, but you will receive a partial refund.
Volunteer signups are open! We can’t put this event on and support all of you without volunteers. Please consider either taking a shift before or after your race or seeing if a friend, family member, or stranger off the street would be up for helping out.
Save the date! I am working on our 2026 Ghost Train Webinar, which is scheduled for September 10th. Stay tuned for more details!
Thank you to Eileen Szczesuil, who has paid for a porta-potty at the Milford DPW and has shared the use with Ghost Train runners! NOTE: There is a lock on the potty. The code is 286. Please make sure you lock it back up when you are done.
Strava! We have a new Strava Group. Thank you to Amber Foy for bringing the idea up in our Facebook Group.
Camping setup in Camp Tevya: More information will be sent closer to race day, but we will be following the same process as last year, in which you’ll have to read the setup instructions ahead of time. If you read and understand the instructions, I’ll send a phrase that you’ll have to tell me on the way in, or you’ll be pulled to the side and will go last. This helps us control the high volume of traffic on Friday afternoon and hopefully keeps the race on the good side of local residents and police.
Please read the Ghost Train Handbook if you haven’t already. Even skimming the interesting-to-you parts will probably answer a lot of questions, especially if this is your first time coming to Ghost Train.
We will be collecting nonperishable food for the local food pantries at the race. There is a lot of hunger and need out there, and we’d like to contribute and help where we can.
SWAG will be available for two hours before the start of each race. Ghost Train will be selling our baseball and fleece hats, and Move Free Designs, along with Patrick Caron, will be selling some of Move Free’s great products! Cash only for Ghost Train items, but cash or credit for Move Free products.

See you in nine weeks!
