To Everyone Registered for 2025 and the Waitlists
Hello!!
There is a lot going on at the Ghost Train Central Office, and I wanted to share a few updates:
Save the date!
Thursday September 25th we'll be hosting a group run and Ghost Train discussion panel in conjunction with our awesome sponsor Marathon Sports! If you can join us in person, come and get a few miles in and then stay for the discussion. We have an excellent panel lined up to talk about all things Ghost Train, ultra running, the new Friday setup instructions, and who knows what else. Can't join in person? That's totally cool! I'm working on a webinar setup where you can join remotely, and we'll record and post the recording. (It's like a fancy VCR!) Here are the quick deets:
Group run: 6pm
Panel discussion: 7pm
Marathon Sports, 669 Elm St in Manchester, NH
I'll send more details next week including who the panelists are and how to join the webinar. In the meantime - think of some questions that you'd like to ask. Thank you to Marathon Sports for hosting us!
Volunteers!
We have plenty of volunteer spots open. Can a friend or crew member help out for a shift? We'd really appreciate it! Our volunteers are amazing and we can't support our runners without them. Learn more and find the links to sign up on our volunteer page, and email me if there are any questions!
Other Stuff!
SWAG will be available at Ghost Train! Cash only for our fleece Ghost Train hats, and details to come from Move Free! (Watch the Facebook group for information closer to the race)
Please bring a reusable cup and help us reduce our waste.
Food donations are very welcome! We don't use them for the aid stations - 100% of donations go to local food pantries. It's tough out there for a lot of people. Can you spare some items?
(Items such as gluten free, low sodium, or lactose free foods, as well as personal care, feminine hygiene, pet food, coffee, olives, pickles, nuts, chocolate, cooking oil, snacks for young kids, and various healthy and nutritious foods are especially welcome. Want to know more about what is needed? (Or not needed?). Check out the food donation page for the Brookline Food Pantry. They have a lot of great information on their site!)
Can't make the race? If your circumstances have changed and you need to drop from the race, please either check the instructions on that drop page, or email me and I can help you. There are wait lists for both the 30-Hour Ultramarathon and the 30-Mile Haunted Night Race. We will miss seeing you in 2025 but someone else will have the opportunity to join the race and they'll be super appreciative of you.
Thanks to our sponsors!

Do you have more questions?
Here are some other great resources to get answers:
The Ghost Train Handbook – this has all the answers! (Email me if I’m wrong and send your question. Please limit questions to things related to Ghost Train!)
Ghost Train Rail Trail Races on Facebook – come ask questions, search for topics, and join the conversation!
Thank you again! I'll send more details on the discussion panel next week.
Rob Fiero
Ghost Train Race Director
PS - are you on the waitlist? The 30-Hour Ultra waitlist has been moving! I think I've invited close to 30 people to join the race in the past 3 weeks or so. If your plans have changed or you'd like to change to a different Ghost Train race, you can drop from the waitlist and register for a different race. If you're not willing to wait to see if you do get in, please consider dropping from the waitlist to give others a better chance of knowing their likelihood of getting in. And, as always, I'm happy to chat about the options/likelihood if you want to email me!
