Stochastic Petri Nets and Poisson distributions at 5.40 £ in Hampstead

Today London was in feast: 21 degrees.

I decided to cut the grass in the garden, go jogging, and sit in a Café in Hampstead Heath and read a bit about Stochastic Petri Nets.

I ended up reading about the Anderson-Craciun-Kurtz theorem for stochastic operators, also called deficiency-zero theorem.

Put in simple terms, let's suppose you have a continuous Markov-model, which you can interpret as a chain of reactions between different chemical components.

The theorem says that the system admits a stationary distribution which is a Poisson distribution! This is an amazing thing, and indeed, it costed 5.40£ to me: the value of an americano and a piece of lemon cake in Hampstead Heath.
