Food web graphs and Cyclic Cosmologies

Hi! Some pictures from two work in progress, with my physicist friends Phillip Staniczenko (Ecology) and Leonardo Banchi (Physics), them both at UCL.

With Phillip we are analyzing Food Webs and their spectral properties (I will be rather vague here... spoiler alert!).

This is a food web plotted according to the trophic level of the species in 3 dimensions, where the z-dimension is the trophic level.

Below instead you can see a completely different plot, and not only because the graph above is generated with Matlab and the one below with Mathematica.

In the plot above you can see the logarithm of the particle production per unit of conformal time for a scalar field in a cyclic cosmology at the bounce, as a function of the

momentum. Low momentum particular are generated at a higher rate as compare to the high momentum one, which is not surprising. Said this, we go beyond that (I'll be vague about this as well).
