Part I
"All passengers prepare for FTL transition." The synthetic announcement reverberates through the sleek star liner. Gravis Liners, ship AE10001, travels through FTL space. A Clydesdale of color surrounds the ship, a visual translation of the universe as it passes by at faster then light speeds. "Transition commencing, local time is 13:22 mid-day." The universe slows and a bright red planet comes into focus, speeding towards it the ship warps space as it reduces speed. Standard sub-light drives speed the ship into orbit and a comfortable re-entry trajectory.
Red dust swirls around the planet as it latent atmosphere tries to hold on to any gases and air it can. Space liner AE10001 speeds across the landscape, heading towards a mountain on the horizon. A massive city sits with in the crater of this mountain, and a breathable atmosphere hovers over the city like a fog. The space liner passes through the fog, which quickly disappears revealing a large city surrounding a lake. The space liner makes a water landing, it's wake creates small waves buffeting small water craft but having no effect upon the massive transport ships also parked in the lake.
"Everyone please prepare to disembark. All overhead compartments must be checked and please double check you have all your personal items." Awaking from their long trip, the passengers begin to get up from the gravity couches and collecting items. Passengers are split into several sections, the most rich travel in first class and even disembark on special platforms away from the common traveler. This animinity is useful for many a traveler including one beautiful red haired women who confidently steps off the ship. Dressed in casual traveling clothes her blood red hair lays upon her shoulder almost defying gravity as it bounces slightly as she walks. At her feet her Fane traveling companions purrs as it walks.
"Miss Red. Miss Red. I'm so sorry to bother you." The terminal steward quickly catches up to Miss Red. "I'm sorry to bother you, but I'm a huge fan of your music and seen all your halo-movies.... Could I have your autograph?" With an abrupt turn Red looks sternly at the steward “This is not the proper place to ask someone of my fame, for their autograph!” An audible “ep!” can be heard from the startled fan, his skin changing too a sickening color. “Wait. Wait. I’m just kidding! It was a joke.” This steward replies startlingly “I. I. Wha?” Red takes the auto-book and signs her name, and the steward returns to his look of happiness. Still puzzlement lingers.
The small cat-like Fane says, after the steward leaves. “And that was, what?”
“Oh, come off it. I’ve always wanted to try that. If I’d known it would nearly kill him, I would have never done it.” Red’s reply is dismissive but betrays some guilt. “Back to important matters Felix.” A puzzled look crosses Red’s face. “Were are we?” The Fane rolls it’s eyes back and with a slight amount of annoyance proclaims.
“This is Minth Prime, a terraform colony under Cfed control. Or more specifically the AIRGEN corporation that is funding and terraforming this planet. This planet is currently a dust ball but success for terraforming is nearly 90%.”
Red replies. “Ok, that was not helpful. You said something about an education farm or something to that effect. I would assume that has more importance to our mission than this being a terraforming project.”
“Rose this is an Edu-Colony. Not an education farm.” Felix’s hair stands slightly as he asks “Do you pay any attention to the briefings we get?”
“Well sometimes, but this place is a dust ball. What are you expecting me to get excited about? No beaches, decent shopping, nothing.”
“Rose my dear, you do not take these missions nearly serious enough. I would assume with your situation, the leniency that Isaac (CEO, Game Sphere) shows you, you would be more appreciative. Without his intervention you would have been deleted!”
Rose steps into the warm air of Minth’s atmosphere and says tartly. “Come on, lets go find that blank. I don’t want to stay here any longer than I have too.”
