I recommend this book because it has various genres so anyone can like it. It mainly is Science Fiction and Historical Fiction.Although the beginning is somewhat

slow starting, it's awesome! The details are very clear and specific. If you have read other Stephen King books and haven't liked those you might like 11/22/63.

However, there is some languge and description about smoking that some people might not want to read about. I'm still reading it and I think it's an amazing read!

5/28/2013 1984 George Orwell, 1949

1984 is a science fiction novel which was written at the beginning of the Cold War. In the book, the author portrays what he might have happened if the Cold War

went on for many ages. The book is an absolutely wonderful example of why the freedoms of speech, thought, and gathering are so crucial to the human race and

why censorship and dictatorship are a hazard to us all. This novel may not be for every one though as it contains some sexual content and towards the end of the

story things getting mentally excruciating.

1984 is one of the most thought provoking and interesting books of all time. It’s an important read for every person in the world. It gives insight into what could

potentially happen if your government was always watching and controlled everything you did and even controlled your thoughts. This book allows for you to realize

how lucky we are to be free. This book requires a bit of maturity as it has strong language, sexual content, and some disturbing scenes.

1/10/2018 The 5th Wave Rick Yancey, 2013

The 5th Wave is a story brilliantly told through the perspective of several individuals who have survived the first four waves of death and destruction. Most have lost

family and friends, and the world’s population has dropped from over seven billion to a couple hundred thousand, if that. The book is filled with twists and turns that

you will not see coming. With this work, Yancey has created a novel that appeals to both teenagers and adults, no simple feat. He has developed his characters well,

and makes them realistic, which allows for his readers to make connections. I recommend this book to anyone who is a fan of The Hunger Games or Ender’s Game.

Even if you have not read those books, The 5th Wave is a good book to enter into the science fiction, death is everywhere genre. The book is an easy read, and takes

little time to do so. All in all this book is amazing and I would definitely read it.

1/10/2018 The 5th Wave Rick Yancey, 2013

The story takes place during an alien invasion where humans are being hunted and killed, the book is very unique in the way its story line, switching from multiple points

of view and it gives you a very in depth look into those people, their past, their emotions, it makes the book so much more entertaining by never slowing down. The only

downside to making a books story line like this is how much information comes with each person and you are most likely going to forget about some of it by the time the

story switches to them again. Overall this is one of my favorite books and i totally recommend it to anyone who is looking for a dramatic story that will keep them hooked

throughout the whole book with character plot development, story development and how they tie together.

5/23/2013 Alas Babylon Pat Frank, 1959

Alas Babylon is a really good book because it’s something that you don’t really read about too often, nuclear war. The setting is in Florida near Eglin Air Force base during

the cold war, and it discusses what life would be like in a post apocalyptic nuclear setting. The amounts of trouble all of the characters in the book have to endure are

incredible and the author’s style of writing from just one point of view is really interesting. Anyone who enjoys this type of setting will love this book like I did.

9/28/2014 Allegiant Veronica Roth, 2013

If you saw the movie Divergent and enjoyed it, I highly recommend this book for you. It's the third book in the Divergent trilogy. This book is about Tris Prior, the main

character, and how she was confronted by a group called Allegiant after lying her way out of jail. Their goal was to escape the compound that they were born into

and see what's on the outside world. Tris, her boyfriend Tobias, and their friends join the group after Tobias helps Tris’s brother, Caleb, out of jail too and throughout

the story they're on a mission to escape and what they find will shock you and make you want to keep reading more. This book will make you mad, cry, feel defeated,

but also show you what true friendship and team work is about. It’s romantic, action filled, and heartwarming. This book is full of suspense and by far, my favorite

one.

1/10/2018 Armada Ernest Cline, 2015

Armada was one of the most well written books I’ve read in awhile. It involves elements of pop culture and lots of video game references. Cline does a great job of

character and story development so that way the story isn’t to hurried and you feel like you know and understand the characters and their actions. In the story there’s

lots of fighting/action sequences that make you want to keep reading. The plot is very well thought out with twists and surprises that you can’t see coming. This book

is wonderful for all types of readers, I’m typically not into science fiction, i prefer fantasy, but this is a book I would definitely recommend this book to people who read

both types of books. It takes a couple chapters for the story and action to really get going and be interesting, but other than that I really enjoyed the book.

10/12/2014 Beautiful Ruins Jess Walters, 2012

Beautiful Ruins is a very relatable novel. In this story, it talks about heartbreak, following your dreams, even though no one believes you can achieve them, and trying

to find that missing piece of you, when you do not even know what you are trying to find. It might take you a few chapters to enjoy the book and to tie the pieces

together, but once that happens, you will not be able to put the book down. The book bounces back between Italy in the 1960's, to Hollywood to London in present

time. They are many different characters throughout the novel that all tie in to each other. Between the Italian hotel owner falling in love with the American actress

and her son travelling to the UK to start his own music tour, to the TV producer asking the hotel owner to find his lost love. Beautiful Ruins is a great book to escape

from your world and into someone else's.

1/10/2018 Calamity Brandon Sanderson, 2016

Calamity takes place after the second book of The Reckoners series Firefight. The book does a very good job of carrying over and finishing the plot with consistent

scenes with good timing and development. The suspense generated in the book can keep you reading even if it is 2 in the morning on exam night. The book is incredibly

descriptive to the point where you could visualize every move making it seem like you are watching a movie.

9/28/2014 The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe C. S. Lewis,1950

I would recommend this book to anyone that is interested in action/adventure books, this truly is a great read for you. This story has four main characters, Edmund,

Lucy, Peter, and Susan. They were sent away from their home in London, to a professors house in the heart of the country, and end up finding a room with a wardrobe

in it and nothing else. The four end up all going into it and find a whole new unknown world! And go on many adventures in this new world they call Narnia, some of

the choices they make are good and some are not so great. For example: going into the wardrobe is a mistake they will never forget. There are two characters in

Narnia, one calls herself the The White Witch as people call her or the queen of Narnia which she calls herself, and the other is Aslan the or the King of Narnia. As

the kids go in and out of the Wardrobe, they also meet people they can trust, as well as people they cannot trust. In Narnia it is always winter, and never gets close

to Christmas, i believe this symbolizes "dead stagnant time" in this world for the kids and he people who live in Narnia. Once the kids enter the Wardrobe their lives

will be changed forever.

9/29/2014 Cinder Marissa Meyer, 2012

Cinder is loosely based on the story of Cinderella, but with some major twists. For one, Cinder is a cyborg and mechanic. Originally, I thought that was a stupid idea,

but a few pages in, it is clear that it shouldn't be any other way. Earth is being ravaged by a plague called letumosis with no known cure and takeover by the Lunar

colony is imminent. Cinder finds out that she can help Earth, so she sets off on an epic journey with the help of some friends she makes along the way. Cinder is the

first in a four book series and I would highly recommend them to anyone. They are all inspired by classic fairy tales such as Little Red Riding Hood and Rapunzel,

but with their own little surprises. The series follows Cinder and her friends as they try to save the human, cyborg, and android races from the rule of evil Queen

Levana and her Lunar colony. The book Cinder never has a dull moment, so this will be one book you can't put down.

10/13/2014 Dead To You Lisa McMann, 2012

This book is a little on the shorter side at about 225 pages for you people who don't enjoy to read. Although it is a great thrill ride and heart racer. It talks about a boy

named Ethan who was abducted from his home at an early age and years later is thought to be alive and returned home. This book may start out a little slow but as it

goes on they are trying to figure out "is this really our Ethan?" The suspense will kill you through the whole book as both arguments are exclusive for each side. It's also

a good book because it is versatile and doesn't necessarily fit into one genre. It's a realistic fiction book, that could be classified into drama, action, or fantasy and will

always keep you wanting to read on further into the series.

1/10/2018 Dead To You Lisa McMann, 2012

This book is one of my favorites I have ever read. The book includes a lot of suspense and really gets you thinking. All though it is a bit slow it will be worth reading it to

the end. The main character of the book is named Ethan and it is about his life after he was returned to his family after being abducted for nine years. Although it sounds

nice his little brother has doubts that he is the real Ethan and this creates a lot of suspenseful moments between them. Once when you push threw the first few chapter

the book becomes very addicting to read I ended up reading it all in two days. You will not regret reading this book. This book lands in the science fiction category on a

broad standpoint but it could also be in multiple other ones as well.

9/28/2014 Divergent Veronica Roth, 2011

Divergent is about our world in the future. They never tell you what happened to Earth, so it is very mysterious. There are five different

factions in the book. Each faction likes a certain trait, for instance honesty is a trait the candor practice. The book has tons of action and suspense. Throughout the

whole book you are wondering what’s next. It is a real page turner! Right off the bat I was interested and could not stop reading it. The book has many surprises in it.

One of the things I really liked about the book was that you could not predict what would happen next. In the beginning of the story the main character is shy and

nervous, but by the end she is fearless. Every choice that main character makes dramatically affects her. Anybody who likes action and adventure should definitely

pick this book up.

10/15/2014 Divergent Veronica Roth, 2011

I highly recommend this book to read if you haven't read this series yet. I watched the movie before I read the book, but I enjoyed the movie because I hadn’t read

the book yet. They are fairly similar, but the book nerds were upset about some of the details left out or put in. Since I enjoyed the movie so much I wanted to read

the book so it was like I was watching the movie continuously. I've now read the first and the 2nd book and I read them pretty quick, but I have yet to finish the 3rd

one yet. If you get into romance novels like me you'll enjoy this book. But if you don't that's ok too because along with the romance there is a lot of action going on.

The plot of the story is a girl named Tris in a society where you're put in different groups based on a test you take that tells you which group you belong in. When

you turn 16 you find out what group you're in. Tris takes the test along with her brother and finds out shes divergent. Don't know what divergent is? Read the book

1/10/2018 Divergent Veronica Roth, 2011

Divergent by Veronica Roth is one of the best Science Fiction/ Dystopian books I have ever read. This book is based in the future, in Chicago, where people are split

into factions. The five factions are Erudite, Amity, Dauntless, Abnegation, and Candor. Each faction represents a different special characteristic. Beatrice Prior is a

girl from Abnegation who goes to take her aptitude test (to help decide which faction she belongs in) and her test results are inconclusive. Tris learns that she is

Divergent, and she must so her best to hide it so that she doesn’t get killed. The society doesn’t like Divergents and sees them as a threat, so in order for her to stay

alive, she has to try to fit in as best as she can in her new faction that she chose (Dauntless). This book has a whole lot of action and even a little bit of romance. Once

you start reading it, you will have to read the whole series because it always keeps you wanting more.

1/10/2018 Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? Philip K. Dick, 1968

This book is about a bounty hunter who is trying to kill a mass production of robots with his assistant, who is a robot, to save the planet Earth. The book is very interesting

and strange. The book allows you to expand your mindset on what could really happen in the future, which is kinda scary. It does start off very slow and boring but starts

to get interesting after the first couple of chapters. What is very interesting about the book is the bounty hunter has an assistant that is a robot that helps him kill its own

kind. Although the book is unrealistic it still allows you to think of what could happen in the future. This book is not the easiest to read but if you play attention to all the

details and engage the words you will fully understand one of the best books you’ll ever read, in my opinion.

1/8/2019 Enders Game Orson Scott Card, 1985

Ender’s game was an action packed book filled with details and events that will keep you latched and interested to the story. It starts with a boy named Ender who is

having a rough time growing up because of his position in his family. His brother and everyone at school despise him. His brother hated him because Ender had his

special monitor taken out a year later than him, which was also the reason he was an outcast at school. There were various quarrels that had involved Ender and

someone else that did not like him where Ender had ended up winning, which eventually landed him at a Battle School in space, which meant he had to leave his

family behind. He developed new connections with people at the school, and had even gotten into fights with a few. After some time passed, Ender eventually had

9/29/2014 Ender's Game Orson Scott Card, 1985

Ender's Game is one of the best books that I read over the summer for multiple reasons. The only thing I would have changed was the ending of the book where

you are left wondering what the fate of earth will be with Peter as the leader. You are left with a massive cliffhanger as to earths fate, this is one of the books only

downfalls as the rest of the book was filled with good intellectually stimulating content and great characters and plot points. Although the book had that one major

flaw of earth's fate, I still enjoyed how many critical points in this book are expressed throughout the "game" itself. Through all of the games that Ender plays,

many of them actually directly affect Ender and how he will deal with future problems and scenarios where he would otherwise freeze up and not be able to carry

out his orders, and complete the task at hand.

1/9/2019 Fahrenheit 451 Ray Bradbury, 1953

Fahrenheit 451 is set in a dystopian future where the possession of books is banned. Firefighters no longer save people from fire, instead their job is to confiscate

and burn any books that are found and burn down the homes they found them in. The main character who is coincidentally a firefighter is named Guy Montag. A

teenage girl named Clarisse moves in the neighborhood with her family. One night she meets Montag on the street. Through her curious questioning Montag realizes

he isn’t happy and what the modern world has become. He then steals a book and realizes what the world has been forgetting. He creates chaos in the city. The lack

of books in Bradbury's story was the main reason people didn’t connect emotionally anymore and were attached to their screens. This story clearly expresses how

important it is that we read books and be aware of our surroundings. It is an exciting read with an interesting ending.

1/10/2018 Fahrenheit 451 Ray Bradbury, 1953

Fahrenheit 451 is a science fiction book that is set in a futuristic, dystopian American society in which books are outlawed and it is a fireman’s duty to burn all that

are found. The book centralizes on the main character, Guy Montag, who is a fireman and questions his life and the world after meeting a strange teenager. From

then on, Montag begins to go through a character transformation that affects his perspective of the world before him. This book really shows how fatal flaws in our

society today can lead to the downfall of our future. The book also expresses the human urge to censor what they don’t understand. This book would be great for

someone who really appreciates books and their role in society, but overall I believe everyone should read this book. The book opened my eyes to what the world

could come to and has had a positive impact on my outlook of life. Fahrenheit 451 highlights how humans need to be fully aware of the society around them.

1/10/2018 Fahrenheit 451 Ray Bradbury, 1953

A historical and societal restructuring has rendered the consumption and adoration of knowledge, specifically that of literature, verboten. Fireman has taken on a new

meaning, for instead of helping others, they set alight houses accused of withholding contraband books, with or without the people inside. All of the territories are held

under a totalitarian regime that perpetuates their control with constant war (which the few intellectuals speculate are fabricated) and propaganda. Proud of his job, one

fireman meets a young, counter-cultural girl, who later “disappears” and begins to wonder: what else is there? Without giving anything away, this masterpiece contains

intense philosophical debates and true drama most modern books would be lucky to capture in even one of their hasty, ill-written pages. The themes and archetypes

transcend their time, and remain relevant today. This dystopian novel ensures introspection and engenders all that has cemented Ray Bradbury as a classic writer as

well as the constant struggle between a government and its people. Fahrenheit 451 displays an incredible power dynamic and characters that are anything but static. I

would discourage anyone who doesn't like monologue and drab portrayals of the future from reading this book.

water, until they reach a specific house in which had plenty of water for days however it all turned out to be contaminated. The plot of the story is interestingly different

and it shows us how the world would be if water could kill you. I started out uninterested in the beginning however the author did a magnificent job on making you feel

This book is one of absolute genuine insight. It follows a cynical Englishmen named Arthur Dent who experiences irony and insanity traversing the galaxy with his best

stories of cases where people were exposed to the Ebola virus. In the beginning, there is a story of Charles Monet who is the first person known to have developed

a world without parents would be like. It also includes a twinge of mutants and monsters thrown in. Hunger is filled with fight scenes, romance and drama. So the story

basically appeals to both genders and different age groups. Once you start reading this series you won’t want to put it down because you’ll want to know what happens

next. After reading this though you may want to think twice about wishing for a world where your parents didn’t exist because I surely wouldn’t want to live in this type of

story.

9/28/2014 The Hunger Games Suzanne Collins, 2008

The Hunger Games is a story of a girl who is one of the selected few to rise up and fight for her district and save her own life. She was forced into an arena with 23 other

people to fight until there was only one survivor. Her younger sister was originally chosen to be the girl to fight for her district but Katniss stepped in to replace her to save

her little sister’s life. The story is about Katniss and her journey to survive through the Hunger Games and make it back home to her loved ones that hoped she would

somehow make it home again safely. This story is filled with action, romance, thrill, and suspense. It will keep you on your toes from start to finish. It is just one of a three

book series that shows what it is like to live under the new ruler of America “The Capital” and it will have you laughing at some points and crying at others. Reading The

Hunger Games would be a great decision if you are looking for an all around thrilling story.

9/29/2014 The Hunger Games Suzanne Collins, 2008

I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys suspenseful, exciting, and thrilling books. The Hunger Games is the first of the 3 series of novels and to my personal

opinion it's the best one. I also recommend this book because it has a great story line and it kept me entertained throughout the novel. This book not only contains action

and violence which most people can enjoy but also romance and friendships. This book also contains futuristic and advanced technology that I found very interesting.

Also throughout the book there were parts that leave you at a cliff hanger and force you to read the next chapter because it leaves you on your toes. I personally loved

the book and I am not much of a reader and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys action novels.

9/28/2014 The Host Stephenie Meyer, 2010

When I first heard of The Host, it was being recommended to my mom from one of her friends. So, out of curiosity, I started reading it. Within about the first fifty pages I

was hooked. This book has it all whether you are looking for science fiction, romance, and even action. This novel takes place in an apocalyptic universe were aliens

have invaded human bodies, and live out there lives in a perfect world. However, there are still very few humans alive that fight foe existence in groups throughout the

world. The plot is made off lots of suspense, humor, and twists that'll have you not wanting to put the book down. Along with the amazing story line, another thing that

drew me to this book was the fact that it was written by Stephanie Meyer; author of the Twilight Saga. If you liked Twilight and all of its compelling drama and suspense,

I can promise you that you'll love The Host.

5/30/2013 I am Number Four Pittacus Lore, 2011

I believe that the book I am Number Four is a great book to read because it's like no other book you'll ever read. I personally don't read a lot and this book had me

reading every minute of the day. I got so into it that I felt like I was in the book myself. All the really specific details made it easy to enjoy. I never thought that I would

like a book like this but once I picked it up I was hooked. Even my dad read it and loved it, and we're two totally different people when it comes to what we like to read,

so it appeals to almost anyone. The only thing that may turn you away from the book is if you like a boring book that is totally predictable and sappy.

9/28/2014 I am Number Four Pittacus Lore, 2010

The book is really good. I have reread this many times and it is still good. The book is meant to be from the different points of view of the characters. The main character

is Number Four. As a child, he and eight other kids were shipped off to Earth from their home planet. It was being invaded by a hostile alien race. The kids had to split

paths to survive. The nine of them are teenagers and must unite now that their powers have developed to survive and take back their home planet. Three have died,

but allies were gathered over the years to help the six make it home and bring their fallen planet from the ashes. It is a full developing book series and is very good. I

highly recommend reading it. It covers every good piece of a book that someone likes. It contains romance, action, adventure, and a large amount of comedy. I've read

many books and I highly praise this one.

9/29/2014 I am Number Four Pittacus Lore, 2010

This novel is a great blend between science fiction and action with a hint of romance. This is one of the few books that really pulled me in. I thought about what was

going to happen every time I unwillingly closed the book. Much to the annoyance of my teachers, I would have the book open and would be earnestly reading any

time there was a lull in class. Plot twists and action kept me at hand and I loved the “save the Earth from destruction even though we are just teenagers” kind of feel.

I would recommend this book to anyone who likes a great book that is easy to read and is gripping to the point that you can’t put it down.

1/30/2012 Incarceron Catherine Fisher, 2007

This book has a surprise around every corner. When you finally think you know what will happen, everything changes. It involves magic, highly advanced technology,

and a virtually inescapable talking prison that stretches for miles, or does it? It was designed to be a paradise but it is now a cruel place of containment. The prisoners

believe there is a way to escape because of a legend of one named Saphique. Does he really exist? Did he really escape? Only time will tell. NOTE: contains mild

language, drug use, death, and violence.

To start off this book can be very confusing, at first and it can also seem weird, which it is. This book is one of those kinds of book that you might not get whats going

on for the first five chapters or so, but when you do it all makes sense. It is about a prison that has basically been abandoned and its left to the inhabitants, which make

their own groups and fight to survive. Theres one of the antagonists called the Warden, his job is basically to keep people from getting out of this prison, but here's

what's weird. The prison is on his wrist, attached to his watch. His daughter finds out about this prison and starts getting these visions of a boy inside, she become so

driven to find this boy she attempts to go inside the prison. Now instead the warden is faced with not keeping people from escaping, but keeping his daughter from getting in.

5/24/2013 The Last Book In The Universe Rodman Philbrick, 2002

This book is ideal for someone wanting a action adventure science fiction story. In this post apocalyptic tale, Rodman Philbrick does an amazing job at telling the

story of Spaz and his comrades' adventure through the badlands, sewage pipes and decaying cities. This story has burning cites, monkey men, and genetically

engineered humans. It also has the underlying message to never undermine literacy, because without that we would forget all. I highly recommend this mildly

1/10/2018 The Last Book In The Universe Rodman Philbrick, 2000

This book is very confusing and hard to understand to start out. It is set in a futuristic dying world. The sun has burned everything and all that is left are town like tent

colonies called Latches. Each latch is a civilization. It tells a inspiring story about the great lengths a poor outcast named Spaz had gone through to see his sister before

she died. I would recommend this book if you are looking for a adventurous story with a mission and dangers faced along the way. I personally don't read a lot, but this

book had me starting to read a lot in my free time. There are a lot of twists so it’s almost impossible to predict the ending but that is what makes it interesting. I

This book is really cool because of the futuristic and dytopian feel. The setting is a civil war in the future between the republic and the patriots. The republic is a

1/24/2012 Marked P.C. Cast and Kristen Cast, 2007

The booked Marked is unlike any other Vampire book I’ve ever read. It’s different because it really makes vampires seem natural, and the story seems like it could

be very real. This book has everything you want in science fiction- adventure, danger, and just enough humor. To me the first chapter was a little slow, but once

you get into it you won’t was to put it down. It’s also filled with romance, and like in almost every book, it’s between people that can never really be together. I do

have to warn you there are a few mild make out scenes throughout the book, but I still recommend this book. Plus it’s a part of a series.

1/10/2018 The Martian Andy Weir, 2011

The Martian is a thrilling survival story about an astronaut left behind in Mars and has no outside communication with his crew.Furthermore, this book creates creative

while rather intense scenes about how challenging it is to live on this desolate planet called Mars. The world today can relate to this book because it teaches the

necessities of survival just like many other nations today are struggling with lack of resources and lacking the main necessities in life. This book is quite humorous and

had me on toes eager to know much more about space exploration. The author catches your attention and makes you feel isolated much like the character Mark Wagner

endured.Mark is a space genius and carefully uses scientific calculations about Mars. I recommend this book to everyone as it inspires and catches people's attention

about space and astronomy. It is unique and one of a kind with a capturing plot.

The Martian was so good that I didn't want to put it down. It had a lot of information in it that related to science and space and it made the story seem like it was real.

The book also was so nerve racking because it was so intense. It taught me actually a lot about chemistry, botany, and a lot of problem solving skills. You didn't even

know what would happen after every challenge the guy was faced with. I would recommend this to anybody who likes a good science fiction novel. I would also

9/25/2014 The Maze Runner James Dashner, 2009

I am recommending this book because it really has a unique twist in it. It isn't the same old same old, usual, worn out, cliche, hackneyed, 'cheesy-teenage-romance-as-

they-fight-off-some-evil' type of story that has, unfortunately, flooded and choked up the store shelves nowadays. This book begins in mystery, and ends in mystery..

You have no idea where the characters are, what this place is, who the mastermind behind it all is, what dangers lurk, not until both you and the character have discovered

it through some dramatic plot twist. The story is new and exciting for those who have not yet heard of the book, and it leaves you both anxious and excited at the same

time, because though you don't want anything to happen to the characters you grow to like, you also can't wait to read more!

1/30/2012 Mockingjay Suzanne Collins, 2010

Mockingjay is a fantastic book. It is a book that incorporates the best parts of romance, action adventure, and science fiction. This is the third book in the Hunger Games

series and probably the best. This book does have one of the main characters, who you will probably come to love, die. This doesn't ruin the book or anything, but it might

1/25/2012 The Moon is a Harsh Mistress Robert A. Heinlein, 1966

This book was a fantastic read for those with a love for science fiction and philosophical theories. The story takes place on the moon and tells of the libertarian revolution.

A computer that has the human like quality of self awareness gives the book an interesting twist. However, this book is written in a futuristic prose that disregards articles

and contains foreign phrases, so one must be up for a challenge to be able to enjoy this book. It is a very difficult read with confusing concepts. Also, a beloved character

dies and the ending is rushed (Heinlein was known for getting bored of his books and hurrying through the endings).

1/10/2018 The Moon is a Harsh Mistress Robert A. Heinlein, 1966

This book was originally published in 1966 about what the author predicted the future would be like on earth and the moon. Prisoners from earth are sent to the moon to

carry out their sentences and aren't allowed to travel back. This book is about the lunar colony using supercomputers to revolt against the rule of earth. The lunar colony

foresees that if they don't revolt and take action, then the future will hold starvation that will eventually lead to cannibalism. The revolt starts with a rebellion against the

colonies political figures that then leads to the creation of the new government. The colony sees this as an opportunity to try to have a peaceful agreement with earth

before a violent revolt. Working with underhanded tactics, tricks, and propaganda, the lunar colony works towards being an independent colony on the moon. I recommend

this book for anyone that likes science fiction and action.

This book was a great book about a boy's struggle to return a stolen item to clear his name. I couldn't help but to finish this book in a matter of 3 days. It was impossible

to put down! This book had a great way of incorporating greek mythology into modern day civilization. Riordan's proper use of mythology was great, and I loved the way

he made it to where you can relate to it. Also, Riodan used many great pronouns and made it feel as if you were actually there. This book was perfectly paced, with

electrifying moments chasing each other like heartbeats. If you love action, mystery, and romance, then this book is for you!

1/9/2019 Ready Player One Ernest Cline, 2011

Ready Player One by Ernest Cline follow the protagonist Parzival (Wade), and his journey on trying to win a competition around an Easter egg in the virtual world. I

enjoyed the humor with constant references to older media such as retro gaming, and 1980´s pop culture. For adults that grew up during the 1980´s this book would

hit nostalgia on the nail, but it doesn't just cater to them. This books follows modern day themes, such as escapism, political corruption, consumerism, over

consumption of resources used by first world nations and much more. In my opinion the most important theme exercised by Ready Player One is the importance

of social connection. Most drown out their problems in this book through escapism, neglecting the world around them. Wade like many others only run from the

world's current energy crisis. They burn interpersonal relations among everyone including their own family. Everyone may ¨connect¨ through the virtual world, but

in truth all feel alone.

I found this book to be remarkable. It has everything that a science fiction fan could ask for. The main characters are believable and the reader can form a connection with

5/30/2013 The Rise of Nine Pittacus Lore, 2012

This book is the third novel in the Lorien Legacies series. I really enjoyed this book because it opened up the plot from the first two books in the series a lot more. In this

book I liked how Four and all the others continued to search for Eight and Nine and the rest of them. The conflict with the Mogadorians also got a lot more intense because

of Setrakus Ra coming to Earth, and that really put you on your toes for most of the book. I think many people would enjoy reading this book because the alternating point

of views keep you on your toes throughout the entire book. There are both male and female perspectives, there is a lot of action, and the plot is very interesting and

well-thought out. I also like how it's set in the real world but has a fantasy twist to it. Someone who doesn't like action books or fighting shouldn't read this.

This book was a very exciting and interesting book. Whether Percy was conquering the invincible god or sharing his sorrows with his best friend Annabeth, it was a very

upbeat book. Throughout the whole book I was never left bored and there was never a dull moment. If you're interested in Greek mythology or learning more about it, this

is a great book for you ! Another reason I strongly recommend this book is because you're always left wondering, which I find to make the book even more exciting. There

were a couple downsides to this book which would be that it can be quite confusing at times, for instance if you don't understand all of the god's abilities then you sort of

fall behind in the book. All in all I thought this was a great book and you should check it out.

1/10/2018 The Sparrow Mary Doria Russell, 1996

The Sparrow is a rather long book, it's three hundred or so pages full of emotion and materialistic wonder. The substance of this slow storytelling makes the long read

more worth it, as the characters are real, with anxieties and insecurities and wild ideas of what exactly it means to be human. “The Sparrow” is a story that is being

told by Emilio Sandoz, a priest who is the only surviving member of his crew that was sent on a space expedition, whom of which is coming under fire from what crimes

he committed, and whose faith in everything, especially his religion has become something long dead. The majority of the book takes place on a planet populated with

beautiful feline-like people which live in a civilization so seemingly alien and strangely unfathomable all the while making sense from our outside point of view. It explores

culture, religion, and the truly objectively unanswerable question of “what does it mean to be human?”

9/28/2014 Star Wars 501st: An Imperial Commando Novel Karen Traviss, 2009

This novel is my favorite book from my favorite series (The Republic Commando Novels). It is my favorite for a few reasons, one of which is that the previous book

leaves off on a cliffhanger and this tells us what happens next. If you were to string the two books together by the last paragraphs you wouldn’t be able to tell where

the first ends and the second book begins. I also like the fact that it is Star Wars Legends (formerly the Star Wars Expanded Universe) which expands upon the six

original movies. This tells us what happens just after the Jedi purge not from a prey’s point of view, but by the hunter’s. It is full of resolution that ties up loose ends

from all the other four novels and the final installment (do date) of the Star Wars Saga. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who likes Science Fiction,

powers they wanted to rule everything, and they ultimately do. The Reckoners want to find the weaknesses of each epic so that they can take them out one by one.

No one knows what the most powerful epic’s weakness, Steelheart, is except for David. This book is what you would call a popcorn fun movie, but with books. It has

strong about. I won’t spoil the book because it’s just too good. The only thing that I didn’t like about the book was the end feeling it left me with. But, other than that,

9/28/2014 Unwind Neal Shusterman, 2007

Unwind, meaning to undo or loosen as the dictionary refers, unravels readers minds, producing these bizarre and exaggerated ideas of different world culturization.

The author, Neal Shusterman, created this story to genuinely freak his audience out and to come up with alternate ways of abortion for unwanted teens. The setting

of the story is mainly base on harvest camps, which take donors’ organs and reuse them depending on the circumstances. The donors range between the ages

thirteen through eighteen. Once the children reach their teen years, most parents send their unwanted kids to these camps to be “unwound”, or "undone." As kids,

most are oblivious to what unwinding really means, except for three mature young adults on the run. Throughout the story, the reader will experience the loss of friends,

gory killings, duty camps, and blossoming love. I would recommend this thrilling book to any and everyone.

4/7/2020 Unwind Neal Shusterman 2007 Science Fiction

This story takes place in the future after a second civil war takes place known as "The Heartland War". It was Pro-life armies against Pro-choice. The result of the war was a compromise called "The Bill of Life" which states that human life can't be taken from birth until the child becomes 13. Between the ages of 13-18 parents can choose to "abort" their child. The action is called Unwinding and it is when the teen is taken apart and its body parts or organs is kept alive and grafted onto someone in need. The book follows kids meant to be unwound who are on the run in search of a refuge known as the Graveyard. It switches perspectives through a bunch of people involved and does a good job bringing all the characters stories together. This book is really easy and fast to read and doesn't have those annoying boring parts in the beginning or middle. It talks about current situations like the debate between Pro-Lifers and Pro-Choicers and makes you really think about the consequences of each.

9/30/2014 Unwind Neal Shusterman, 2008

In the book Unwind it starts off with a kid named Connor Lassiter (our protagonist). He lives in a normal house in suburban Ohio. Everything is normal about the

life he lives in except in this story if a child is not wanted or it seems like they are problem children, from the ages of 14-18 you may be unwound, which means

your parents can sign a sheet of paper handing you over to the government and have you taken apart and used for medical transplants. Connor found the unwind

order his parents had signed and decided to run away. In the process of running he got caught and made a great escape crashing a car and a bus carrying the

other two main characters of the novel, Risa and Lev, the three flee the cops and find themselves in a safe house, a place where they are safe from cops, and hid.

Eventually they find their way through the system and get to an abandoned airplane graveyard which also doubles as a massive AWOL unwind safe haven. Then

the Connor has to make a tough choice to help the leader of this safe haven. and finds himself in a hopeless situation. I chose this book because it is extremely

dynamic and ever changing leaving the reader asking what happens next. It may seem dark but thats what makes the story that all the more interesting. You will

find yourself cheering on the heroes many times throughout the novel. Its action packed and even has a little romance thrown in. Its always throwing in plot twist

that leave you in awe. The story ends in a great cliffhanger leaving you wanting more, and you’ll find yourself ready to dive into the sequel. This is by far one of

James Patterson has excelled in all types of genres of young adult fiction such as mystery, action, and fantasy. Witch and Wizard has a futuristic setting. Grown-ups

have arrested all children to find and eliminate all magic-users to create a “perfect world." Young wizard Whitford and young witch Wisteria escape from their imprisonment

and join a resistance to fight back against the adults. This novel may just one-up the famous Harry Potter series with its survivalist plot and the deep background of the

main characters.

1/10/2018 A Wrinkle In Time Madeleine L'Engle, 1962

This is a book about two kids and their friend Calvin trying to find their dad throughout space and how they accomplished it. They took some twists during the book which

I really enjoyed where it seemed like Meg was dead and was paralyzed. The book goes into the topic of tessering which is how they move from one place to another

instantly which i found quite interesting. A wrinkle in time is turning into a movie in very soon and you could just watch that, but i suggest you read the book first because

it was fun for me.This book was granted the John Newbery Medal in 1963 and is a bestselling classic. Another good thing about this book is that is was a fast and easy

read and is perfect for a literary analysis. This is why I am recommending this book to you and i hope whoever reads it enjoys it !!
