5/25/20 10 Ten Gretchen McNeil, 2013

Ten is a good book about a series of murders on an island, but there are graphic deaths, so keep an eye out if you don't like gruesome deaths. The book

takes you along with the action and has a nice pacing to it, though the end seems a little hectic, but it should make you want to stay up until 2 in the morning

simply to find out what happens next. Hope this helped you find a good book.

1/10/2018 American Psycho Bret Easton Ellis, 1991

This is precisely one of the most sadistic novels of the twentieth century. It will repulse you and make you question your moral compass. It takes place in

1985 and is narrated by Wall Street madman and unrestrained psychopath Patrick Bateman. It chronicles his psychological breakdown and murderous mid life

crisis. This book is excellent, and much more in depth and gory than the 2000 film adaptation, which erases all philosophical investigation and societal interrogation

that the book has so presently. This book is definitely not for the faint of heart or the squeamish reader, as it is extremely explicit in nature of both murderous and

sexual subject matter, yet it could possibly be considered a moralist work (depending on the reader’s interpretation of the novel) as it forces the reader to recognize

the horrors in this world, those which we intentionally do not speak of…

5/31/2013 Bonechiller Graham McNamee, 2008

Bonechiller was a very suspenseful novel. It made the reader want to keep reading to finish the plot line. I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a

good read because it has scenes of action, mystery, and a little bit of romance. Some of you might not like this book because of intense or frightful scenes, or

perhaps that the story line takes a while to start. Once you start to read it, you won't want to stop until it's finished.

1/9/2019 Carrie Stephen King, 1974

Carrie is a bone-chilling suspenseful novel that deals with teenage angst as well as magical power. Carrie initially is a fairly normal girl, bullied by her classmates as well

as dealing with an extremely religious mother. However our view of Carrie changes when we see her feelings and how they mix with her telepathic powers. The book better

helps us relate with Carrie as opposed to the movie, where we are unable to know her inner thoughts and emotions. On the outside, Carrie is a book about a teenage girl

were emotions get the best of her; however when emotions are mixed with inhuman power, it makes a disastrous combination. This book perfectly demonstrates Stephen

King´s ability to express deep emotion to the reader that will have the reader sympathizing with Carrie, who some might see as a villain. Carrie’s story of mass-murder

leaves the reader feeling scared and uneasy; for someone who enjoys horror, this book is perfect.

5/3/2012 Cat and Mouse James Patterson, 1997

This book is an incredible thrill. You will be on the edge of your seat the entire time you're reading. The plot contains two horrible murderers on the loose, but in the

end, there is a surprising twist. Cat and Mouse is unusual because it is not only written from the detective's point of view, but it switches to the killer's point of view in

every other chapter. The only reason not to read this book would be because of some gruesome murder scenes and some sexual content. I would suggest this book to

those who enjoy reading horror/mystery books.

2/3/2016 The Cellar Natalie Preston, 2011

You’d love to hate this book. Twisted and psychotic characters plus even crazier and disturbing events fill this book from front to back. I recommend this book to

anyone who loves thrillers, suspense, and mysteries. That feeling you get in the pit of your stomach while watching a scary movie is the exact feeling you’ll get

while reading this book. You’d love to burn this book and throw it away but it’s addicting. Once you start you can’t stop until you reach the end. Elements of friendship,

murder, and love are added to make this book an all around great read.

1/8/2019 Chain Letter Christopher Pike, 1986

It's not often that I find a book that I'm interested in enough to read in just a few days. Many horror mysteries are too easy to figure out, while with this kept you guessing.

Christopher Pike tries to hit you towards other characters for being at fault for starting the chain letter, giving several reasons why the different characters could be it. I've

read many of ChristopherPike's books before, and if you're looking for a great murder mystery he's definitely a great author to go to. The only thing I don't like about this

book is that he uses many of the names for his characters throughout different books. The issue with this is that once you've read his books like "Last Act" then come

here then the names already have faces and personalities to you. One of the things I find most interesting about this book is that the book is dedicated to one of the

characters, making you wonder if he based his characters off real people in his life, or if the characters mean more to him than just someone in his stories. Over all this

book is an amazing book from start to finish. The caretaker is someone you would never suspect because of what happens to them. I would recommend this book to any

of my friends, and after I read it for the first time two of my friends read it after me. It's a book that leaves you wanting to talk about it.

4/25/2012 Chasing Brooklyn Lisa Schroeder, 2010

This book is an easy read as I read it in just a few hours. It is set in verse form, and will definitely pull at your heartstrings. I recommend this book for any girl who is

okay with reading about death, and learning about what happens to the family left behind of the deceased. Lisa Schroeder does such a great job of making her books

crushingly dark and wildly hopeful at the same time. Chasing Brooklyn was both haunting and beautiful at the same time.

1/30/2012 The Door to December Dean Koontz, 1985

This book literally will keep you on your toes. The twists in this book makes you want to keep flipping the pages to see what happens next. Just to clarify this

book does contain violence and murder. The violence is what makes the book so interesting and twisted. Even though it is a bit of a thick book, you will find

yourself flipping page after page from how much you get into the book.

1/10/2018 The Graveyard Book Neil Gaiman, 2008

This book is one of the best horror fiction books I have ever read. Even though it is a horror book if you are looking to be frightened this is not the book for you.

It is a story like the Jungle Book however instead of a boy raised by jungle animals it is about a boy raised by ghosts. As I started the book I was immediately

amazed by how thrilling and suspenseful it was. For example when baby Bod was being chased by the murderer I wasn’t sure if he would survive. The book gave

me a feeling of reliability as I could understand what the characters thoughts and emotions were and how they dealt with the different problems they were faced

with. For example when Bod was faced by the Indigo Man in the cave he had to escape somehow but he was so frightened because he was only a small child. I

highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys the supernatural as it is filled with ghosts and ghouls.

1/31/2012 The Hunted Mike Dellosso, 2008

When reading this book, it is basically impossible to put it down. Its a mystery/Horror, and keeps you on the edge of your seat the whole time. But I must warn

you, there is strong violence, so for those who can't handle that, I would not suggest reading it. Besides being a mystery/horror, this book has a Christian

outlook. This book keeps you wondering the whole time. Throughout this book you try to figure out the story, and what happens but the ending is so bizarre.

If you like mysteries, and solving them, then this book is for you!

5/23/2013 Jay's Journal Beatrice Sparks, 1978

This book is utterly and unquestionably horrifying. Everything that could possibly go wrong happens to the characters and protagonist -and I will

let you take that for what you will. Simply put, if you are looking for a book that is exceedingly suspenseful and keeps you on your toes, Jay's Journal will do

that and then some. It is to be mentioned, however, the book contains vulgar and gruesome scenes of murder, death, and occult activities that are not for

the modest and sheltered. Despite this, the story contains an alluring

story line that you will not forget.

11/5/2021 The Long Walk Richard Bachman (Stephen King) 1979 Horror

The Long Walk is one of my personal favorites. The story deals with futuristic America in which they have a competition every year that involves 100 boys walking a 450 mile marathon along the east coast, and the grueling aspects and harsh punishments that are a part of The Walk. The book is different (in a good way) from other books that I have read in the way that rather than jumping around to other events in other locations, or switching to the point of view of another character, you are with the same group in the same setting throughout the whole book. It's almost as if you are walking alongside the boys in the competition. The book does center around the character Ray Garraty and his experience with The Walk and the peculiar things he discovers along the journey and the connections he makes with the other participants. It is eerie and even somewhat emotional, depending on how attached you become to the characters, and overall is a really great read.

5/31/2013 The Price Alexandra Sokoloff, 2008

This book is a psychological horror/thriller and holds one's attention throughout the book. It is written well, with reoccurring themes of the occult and how the

choices we made years ago could affect us so negatively in the future, all by the power of one man. It follows the life of one man trying to understand his

surroundings in a twisted and confusing hospital.

1/10/2018 The Silver Eyes Scott Cawthon and Kira Breed-Wrisley 2015 Horror The Silver Eyes Scott Cawthon and Kira Breed-Wrisley December

17, 2015 Horror Fiction/ Mystery... Based off the popular Five Nights at Freddy’s video games, this book takes place in a town in Utah called Hurricane. A

teenage girl name Charlie reunites with her friends after ten years only to discover that a pizzeria they all went to as kids is haunted by possessed animations.

This book contains murderers, monsters, and mystery and is a great read for those who likes puzzles. Something new is always happening, which eliminates

chances of getting bored, and not wanting to read the book anymore. For example, since there are so many characters, the book changes perspective a lot,

between the members of the friend group, the police, and even the murderer. I found myself interested in this book because the horrid events that were depicted

in the video game were brought to life in book form, making the plot seem more realistic, therefore making the story more frightening and enjoyable. And for

good measure, Scott and Kira even included a small love story if you like romances too. And if this wasn’t enough, Scott and Kira continue the story in The

Twisted Ones.

2/5/2016 Thirst No.1 Christopher Pike, 2009

Thirst No.1 is a really great book!! Sita (Alisa Perne) is shown as a ruthless, cold-hearted killer in the beginning, but as you read she becomes something

completely different. Christopher Pike wrote this character perfectly, showing all of her struggles and problems in a way that you can sympathise with her and

feel sorry for her. She tries to escape her creator and survive, but she seeks help from a boy named Ray and slowly starts to fall in love with him. She now

not only needs to protect herself, but Ray as well. I really love this part of the book because it shows that she still has human emotions and is not just a monster.

1/24/2012 Thr3e Ted Dekker, 2003

This book is excellent. It's a little lengthy, but it really does have nonstop action throughout its entirety. There are no vulgarities, but there is one part relating

to animal cruelty. Ted Dekker is a Christian author, so there are definitely some positive morals within the story. It's one of my favorite books because there

are two twists at the end that will truly make you want to read it again. If you like psychological thrillers, then this book is for you.

1/30/2012 Trapped J.A Konrath Jack Kilborn, 2010

This book is a great book to read if you are into to horror. This book is extremely scary and you wont sleep for weeks . I must warn you that this book has language ,

violence ,and some sexual content. This book starts out scary and keeps getting scarier. But if you are into horror then this definitely the book for you. Also

this book has fairly short chapters so it is an easy read. Now as I said before this book is really scary so it is not for the faint of heart so read this book
