Installing Netatalk/Apple Filing Protocol:

This guide shows how to add the Netatalk/Apple Filing Protocol (OS X server) to your EON ZFS Server.

Pre-requisite(s): The Binary Kit must be installed.

Read previous Time Machine Guide. The main difference with this and the "Time Machine Guide" is rail, emp simplifies the install and start/stop steps for EON version 1.0 and higher.

Let's install the Apple Filing Protocol package.

rail install afp

Edit "/abyss/share" in "/usr/local/afp/etc/netatalk/AppleVolumes.default" to point to your own pool.

/abyss/share "EON Time Machine" options:tm,usedots,upriv allow:admin cnidscheme:dbd

To start netatalk/apple filing protocol

emp afp start

Configuration file location(s):

/usr/local/afp/etc/netatalk/AppleVolumes.default

/usr/local/afp/etc/netatalk/afpd.conf

/usr/local/afp/etc/netatalk/netatalk.conf

Log file location(s):

/usr/local/afp/var/log/afpd.log
