Mysterious Image Assignment

In their out-of-class writing assignment, students were required to write a paragraph about a mysterious image. The assignment was divided into the following requirements:

Choosing a Mysterious Image

Students were asked to choose an image that seemed mysterious to them. They were also asked to specify why they chose their images and submit them on Canvas (between 3 to 5 sentences).

Mysterious Image Paragraph (1st draft)

Students write a paragraph about the mysterious image they chose. They briefly describe the image, and then speculate about how the photograph was taken or changed to get the effect they see. Their paragraph should answer these questions:

• • Why did you choose this image?

  • What is mysterious about this image? What makes it mysterious in your opinion?

  • Describe the image.

Mysterious Image Paragraph (2nd draft)

Students bring their drafts to class for peer reviews and then they revise their Mysterious Image paragraph taking into consideration the feedback they got from their peers.

Mysterious Image Paragraph (Final draft)

Students submit their final draft of the Mysterious Image paragraph taking into consideration the feedback they got from me.
