I have been taking photos since I was a kid. My first camera was a gift from my father when I was 10 years old. He bought one for me in order not to touch his sophisticated camera. For me, pictures are a great way to remember many instances in our lives, especially when we get old and many of our memories fade away.

In my culture, every woman should learn to cook. However, for me, cooking was and still is a pleasure. I always watch cooking programs and buy cooking books. I enjoy trying new recipes, especially desserts. My favorite food channels are: Fatafeat, BBC Food, and Food Network. My collection of cookbooks includes Arabic, English, and Turkish cookbooks. I started collecting new ones since I came to the US.

I enjoy reading short stories and novels both in Arabic and English. My favorite writer is Ghada Alsamman, a Lebanese woman writer. I still don't have a favorite writer in English. I read whatever comes to my hands. I also love reading Arabic poetry. My favourite poet is Nizar Qabbani. Now, I enjoy reading English poetry as I used to when I was an undergraduate student.

I used to write short stories and poetry in Arabic. Writing in Arabic was my world of creativity. Many of my writings saw the light and got published. But, many more were burned alive. While I was creating this page, I felt sorry for the burned ones and I wished to have all the published ones to include them here and give them the right to live more and see a very different light.

Now, I enjoy movies with my daughter. So, I watch cartoon movies such as "Barbie", "Finding Nemo", "Shark Tale", "Enchanted", "Tangled", "Ice Age", and other movies. My collection of videos and DVDs is expanding to include the new DVDs I started collecting since I came to the US.
