CLO 5253.2 - Identify a clear instructional goal that is related to the English content of the standards.
CLO 5253.3 - Provide the learning in each instructional year that lays the necessary groundwork for success in subsequent English courses.

CLO 5253.5 - Assess student progress toward the achievement of English standards and adjust instruction accordingly.

Instructions for Video:
1. UDL and Co-Teaching Lesson Plan and Presentation:
You will be required to design and present a lesson of your choice that demonstrates differentiated instruction, the use of curriculum modifications, and teaching strategies for students with exceptional needs. You will be specifically assigned particular types of students from whom you must design your lesson. You will be required to use the principles of Universal Design for Learning and technological innovations while developing the lesson. You will also be expected to use and implement co- teaching strategies or models discussed/presented from class. You may work in small groups of 4-5 classmates. See rubric for more detailed information. This assignment will entail critical
thinkers to work together and foster Communication, Collaboration, Creativity, create shared information, implement
Media literacy and cultivate Social Responsibility. You may use any of your required lesson plans that you have written for this class to meet this requirement.
In addition to the written document, candidates need to submit an annotated video showing how the candidate implemented UDL in his/her classroom. A candidate can submit several video clips (not to exceed 30 minutes for all clips in the submission). Each clip can be 5 minutes long. Annotations need to provide an explanation of the change that were implemented and emphasize how the strategy differentiated instruction especially for students with special needs. Candidates must submit this video via EdThena. A Fieldwork Instructor will evaluate your work, in collaboration with the professors for this class.
2. Literacy Plan/SDAIE Strategies
Candidates will write a minimum of a three-page reflection identifying how their classroom practices reflect their learning of the material from this course. Candidates will highlight one change or adaptation they have made to their classroom environments in EACH of the following:
• Grouping Strategies
• Assessment
• Vocabulary Instruction
• Comprehension
• Informal and Formal Writing
• Speaking Skills
You may use any of your required lesson plans that you have written for this class to meet this requirement, provided you adequately address the reflection and above bullets.
