My third cousin, twice removed.
Volunteered in June 1915 and was drafted to France with the 14th Worcestershire Regiment six months later. Whilst on the Western front he served with distinction at the battles of Albert, Vimy, Ridge, the Somme, Amiens and the Sombre. He was also in action at Loos, St Eloi and Mons (November 1918). He was demobilised in December 1919 and holds the 1914/15 Star, the General Service and Victory medals.
