My third cousin, twice removed.
Harry volunteered in November 1914 and was drafted with the 10th Worcestershire regiment to France two months later. He was wounded shortly afterwards in the Ypres sector and was invalided home. On his recovery, he returned to the Western front and fought at Vermeilles and Vimy Ridge before being killed in action on the Somme. He was entitled to the 1914/15 Star, General Service and Victory medals.
