My Great Great Great Great Aunt
According to some documents, including her marriage certificate, Elizabeth married Alexander Southeram. According to others, including their children's birth certificates, he was Alexander Sutherland. He's particularly elusive whatever you call him, and so far I haven't found him on any censuses.
But that's not the only mystery. Why did they name two of their children after Elizabeth's sister's husband, Philippe Jacques Stenger?
Elizabeth's daughter Jane's birth was registered in Sculcoates, which is part of Kingston upon Hull, in 1846. Philip Jacques Stenger was sacked as a manager at the Hull Glass Company in 1848. That suggests that Alexander, also a glass maker, might also have been employed there.
