6. Am I required to have a lamp post in my front yard on from dusk to dawn?
Yes! The DTDC HOA covenants require Delaware Trace homes to have a front yard lamp post running from dusk to dawn every night. Homes in Delaware Commons are not required to have separate lamp posts and instead have exterior wall mounted lights near the garage doors. This is a requirement because our neighborhood doesn't have street lamps. In addition, a lighted neighborhood a good safety measure for theft prevention and safety of parents and children walking on our streets at night.
Please keep your lamp post lights functional. Replaced burned out bulbs.
While not required, the HOA prefers the use of conventional (tungsten filament) bulbs or "warm" (2700K or 3000K) LED bulbs in your lamp post or exterior lights due to the warm glow they give off. Compact florescent bulbs or "cool" (4000K and up) LEDs in outside lighting are strongly discouraged.
7. Can I park my car in the street overnight?
No. This is prohibited by the covenants. Please keep your vehicles in the garage or on your driveway.
8. The sidewalk in front of my house needs repaired. What do I do?
The sidewalks in developments are the responsibility of the homeowner. You will need to find a contractor and pay for the repair. Feel free to contact our property manager for more information.
