As a reminder, the opt-out period for City trash collection is June 1 thru June 30.
If you don't want to participate in the City's trash program, you must SEND IN THE OPT-OUT FORM DURING THIS TIME WINDOW. A copy of the form is attached,or your can download it from http://www.carmel.in.gov/modules/showdocument.aspx?documentid=2126. You must then contract with a private trash collection service for pick-up. Ray's Trash will certainly be glad to have your business, but you must make the call to get your service set up. Alternatively, if you want the City to collect your trash, do nothing. You will automatically be enrolled in the City-wide program and the City will collect your trash and recycling. Details on the City trash program can be viewed at http://www.carmel.in.gov/index.aspx?page=503.
The HOA will not be involved in any trash or recycling services after 2012.
Note: Once you've opted-out you remain opted-out; you do not need to resubmit another opt-out form next year. If you change your mind and want to opt-in, you can do so at any time by contacting the Carmel Utilities customer service office, 571-2266.
