ALBERT EDWARD WILLSON, agriculturist, "Dudley Villa," Hog Bay, is the second son of the late Mr. Thomas Willson, of Hog Bay River, where the gentleman under review was born in 1880. His father had taken up land in this district about the year 1864, and from his earliest days Mr. A. E. Willson became familiar with the various departments of farm life.
He remained at home until his nineteenth year, when he removed to Hog Bay, and was associated with similar pursuits on his grandfather's property until 1905.
He then decided to begin operations on his own behalf at "Dudley Farm," a holding of 280 acres, in the same neighbourhood, which reverted to him under the terms of his father's will after the demise of the latter gentleman in 1907. He erected a very nice homestead on this estate, and has cultivated the land very successfully, reaping about eighteen bushels of barley to the acre. In addition to this property he holds 900 acres on the south coast of the island, and his career is opening very auspiciously.
Mr. Willson takes a keen interest in all local public affairs, particularly in connection with political elections, and has on several occasions acted as scrutineer.
In 1906 he married Ethel Annie, second daughter of Mr. James O'Driscoll, of Malvern, near Adelaide, and has one daughter.
